5.5/10I previously experienced this place in a very positive way (good food, reasonably priced) but this time was awful. I came on time. I first had to insist in having an indor table as the platform had allocated me an outdoor table - according to the owner. Quite difficult to believe that the owner wouldn't be free to place customers wherever it so pleases. When I ordered for myself and mentioned that my wife wouldn't eat due to a fasting (for medical reasons) the owner came in to inquire - and doing it repeatedly 5 or 6 times - if she would not consume something. Unrepentant, the hostess further inquired if she would also use the installations (showing the toilet space). We clearly stated that I would consume but she kept on going about "consuming"and "using the premises". Clearly I didn't feel as a customer in a service industry but merely a walking euro note. We thus decided to leave. The hostess then came behind us as we drank water, most likely nicely bottled tap water.

10/10The food is excellent and prepared with care. The staff is friendly and welcoming. We have eaten here before and already have plans to return when family comes to visit in a few weeks. There is something about eating here that feels so comforting. We cannot say enough. The wine, the food, the dessert everything is top notch!

10/10Food was all very good, as usual. The only complaint is that it was very hot outside and the air conditioning wasn’t strong enough to cool down the room. And since the window curtains (apparently) are allowed to be closed, we were exposed to direct sunlight.

4/10We were a client at Pratu's for several years now, and we visited the restaurant always when we were in Portugal, at least a couple of times per year. It was a very nice, vibrant, small place with really excellent simple food and an always engaged lady owner. The people now still are friendly and at your service, but the food quality has dropped dramatically: we were having tapas and a matured tomahawk steak, the tapas were a shame and the steak was mediocre. We are not planning to come back!

10/10Fantastic food, some international dishes and a refined take on some Portuguese dishes. We had a Filet Mignon and Bacalhua which were both perfectly cooked and complimented with the sides and garnishes. We had a lovely chat with Maria and this restaurant is one we will remember and revisit. Lovely dining experience !

8/10I’ve been here several times before and typically have the pleasure of chatting with the owner and getting really fabulous, warm, professional service. Anytime family or friends visit from the US, I insist that we go to Pratu’s. Although the food was spectacular as usual, the service was less than. Our server on Saturday wasn’t warm and was actually a bit standoffish. Fortunately, the other two servers were better. It was a bit disappointing as the food and atmosphere are so spectacular. I hope he was just having an off day.

9.5/10Great little restaurant on a side street. Lovely staff and the tapas were fantastic! Found it a little crowded and noisy but can understand why they were so busy! Very impressed with the fact there were vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. Will definitely return.

8/10Good spot to eat a meal. We had lunch and went for snacks. Servings are generous, although the chicken wings could have been more. The broken eggs are not the typical ones, the fries are missing. Other than that, great meal.

9.5/10The large cheese and charcuterie board was delicious and the manager was very informative about the products . Tomahawk steak and lamb were cooked perfectly and the desserts where delicious. We were offered a small glass of the local wine that is produced in Alcobaca and this was delightful. The staff were very polite and and accommodating. Overall an excellent night.

10/10Excellent dining experience in a beautiful town. The restaurant staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The food was excellent. We had the tapas and enjoyed a variety of dishes that we chose with the help of our friendly server Marco. The poached pear for dessert was a nice ending to a great meal.

8.5/10Had dinner here with my wife. She ordered the Filet Mignon, and she loved the dish. It was also reasonably priced. I had the Pork Cheeks in a bread bowl, and I also enjoyed my dish. Both dishes were creatively prepared with nice presentations. The space itself is small, but eclectically, tastefully decorated. The only thing I would change is rather than have paper napkins, I would substitute for Linen, which is more appropriate in fine dining restaurants like Pratu. Also, the lights should be a little more dimly lit, and candles placed on the tables, providing a calm ambiance. The waiters were young, and polite, and professional. However, they were wearing jeans, and had their own non matching attire. A more fitting attire would have been black pants, with either black or white shirts and an apron. In terms of background music, it appeared that the music was more for the kitchen staff than the guests, as regular top 4o music was on. For this level of restaurant, mellow, jazzy music, or classical would be more appropriate. Now in regard to prices, the Filet Mignon and Pork Cheeks dishes were appropriately priced. As far as the Caprese Cherry Tomatoes Tapas we ordered, it cost 7,60 euros. It was shockingly over priced, as what comes to your table is small bowl of cherry tomatoes, with no cheese. Caprese literally means a dish with Mozzarella cheese. So the dish is mis labled. You do get pine nuts, vinaigrette, two pieces of basil, and that's it. Looking back we wish we would had told the waiter to remove that dish from our site as we were insulted. Anyway, the other two dishes were good.

8/10iT WAS THE SECOND VISIT TO THIS RESTAURANT. THE FOOD QUALITY IS VERY GOOD AND THE SERVICE IS IMPECCABLE. QUALITY/PRICE RATIO IS ONE OF THE BEST IN THIS REGION NOT WISE THAT THEY ALLOW DOGS IN THE RESTAURANT.

10/10Pratu’s is my favorite restaurant in the area around Caldas da Rainha. The food is outstanding and the service is excellent. Their beef offerings include an Angus burger. filet mignon and a humongous tomahawk steak. They offer a large selection of Tapas and vegetable sides. It is unusual to find such a good selection of vegetables - not just potatoes. Tonight’s dinner was excellent. We were a party of 3 plus my dog. Yes, well behaved dogs are welcome inside and outside! Highly recommend!

10/10Excellent meal. Great service from really friendly staff. Our choice of food was explained to us perfectly in English as we don't speak much Portuguese yet. Prices were really reasonable considering how much food arrived! Highly recommended and will definitely be going back.

10/10Pratu's is my favorite restaurant in my area of Portugal. The food is always superb, the service is always friendly, helpful and attentive. My dog loves going also! I had the groupe entree in a heavenly sauce with a large mussel, and small cauliflower. I always order the glazed carrots - they never disappoint! It is so obvious that the entire staff enjoy what they do and their passion shines through in the food and service. Looking forward to returning very soon.
