for a 4 star hotel the service @ the main restaurant was quite disappointing. first they ran out of corona, then they ran out of heineken, the steak was ok but the pasta dish was terrible, salty & gluggy. service was not efficient and we had to ask repeatedly for things. once was enough, would not be back

We had a beautiful experience lunching in the High Tea room at the Stamford Grand yesterday. 2 course meal for $28 with 4 entrees and 4 delicious mains to choose from. I had the Adelaide hills Parma ham & salami, on sourdough toast with pickled veggies. For main the scrumptious Spaghetti Marinara with prawns,, mussels, fish and squid was a hit. Juicy seafood in a succulent sauce. Booked on the Fork. My friend had the Chicken roulade with broccolini, pumpkin purée and olive tapenade. The chicken was so tender and flavourful. Will definitely return. Thank you Zak and team for the wonderful VIP service & compliments to the Chef and kitchen staff.

The staff took extra special care of us tonight to celebrate my parents’ 47th wedding anniversary. We were greeted with a glass of bubbles (on the house) and the excellent service continued throughout the evening. The complimentary carrot cake for dessert with anniversary wishes decorating the plate was a lovely touch. A very memorable occasion and we were all so grateful.

Booked High Tea for our 6th wedding anniversary and mentioned this during the booking process. Was wished upon arrival and offered a glass of bubbles to celebrate the occasion. Was impressed at the recognition. Food was good, the curry puff was my favourite and service was efficient and polite. The mood of the restaurant could probably have been better with some music - if there was music playing, we couldn’t hear it. Special thanks to Rafael for the warm welcome. Will be back!

A Glenelg classic - great food, service and ambiance. Staff were very helpful and attentive without being overbearing. Compliments to the chef and team. The char grilled lamb chops were perfect and love the SA seafood. Will be back for breakfast on my birthday.

Welcoming staff were lovely. When leaving staff thanked us for coming. Really enjoyed our meals lot to choose from. Good value for money paid. We were not hurried. Only disappointments: both minor issues. table was uneven and kept wobbling and the coffee machine was broken. We shall return.

My partner and I were welcomed by the amazing wait staff and shown to our table, with a sunset and beach view. The cheesy garlic bread was a delicious start to an incredible meal. The steak was cooked to perfection and couldn’t be faulted

Great selection of breakfast items. Everything was done well and I mean this. Better than the Marriott in Melbourne! Loved the tiny cheese kramsky sausages and the chia pudding with mango was so refreshing. No juice machine and coffee machine not so great but hey we could’ve ordered barista. Great work team

Some of the food was okay. I enjoyed my gluten free portion. When we booked we asked for no salmon specifically. When the waiter seated us we were told we wouldn't get any salmon. We also had a young child with us who we wanted chicken nuggets instead of fish. The high tea arrived with salmon sandwiches and fish for the child which had to be sent back. That was disappointing. The child did like the chicken strips when they eventually did arrive. Those that didn't want coffee or tea were not offered anything in it's place. Overall a disappointing experience. The restaurant itself is an amazing spot. The guests also didn't like chocolate mini tarts - said they had a strange taste. Overall disappointing.

This is the 2nd time in under 2 weeks that we've dined in the Promenade for lunch. The first time was for my birthday and yesterday my husband's birthday. I made special mention on my booking that my husband suffers from dementia and can't tolerate noise and asked for a table in a quiet spot. You remembered and went out of your way to do this for us for which I am so grateful. We'll be back, but it will be before our birthdays as we can't wait another year before we sample your delightful menu - especially your garlic & cheese loaf. Thank you again, Christine Howard

maybe best to include 1 barista coffee in their breakfast buffet since they no longer serve coffee/tea but just a coffee/machine in lieu. the Stamford Plaza in Adelaide includes that in theirs
