2/10They had the booking time incorrect even though the automated reminder sent to me 2 or 3 times, they still had the wrong time. The staff were unfriendly bordering on rude. No ambience as virtually empty, no champagne available in a Hotel in James St is unheard of. We were told the kitchen closed at 3pm and being only 2.15 the waitress said, 'you have plenty of time. We went to order at 2.45 and told we could order pizza or spring rolls. We chose there for a Christmas staff party, big mistake.

5.5/10Unfortunately I didn't have a great experience: my pizza Margherita was really chewy, dense, and the mozzarella cheese on top was of poor quality - not fresh, just plastic-ky taste and texture.

5/10Booked online for a catch up dinner . Was not aware it was a trivia night as well which I felt could have been mentioned in the booking platform if it was a regular occurrence . Very noisy for this reason and not what we were after. Service very slow and clearly understaffed . Lining up for drinks at the bar too quite awhile . Wait for meals was over 1.5 hours and 1 eye fillet had to be sent back as was inedible and very over cooked. Presentation was sub standard. Overall an underwhelming experience and we will not be back

8/10QA is a place I and two of my good friends meet for lunch because it’s central for us (new farm and Hawthorne). Good food and good service. No loud annoying music or crowds when we go there usually mid week, for lunch. I recommend it to anyone who wants to dine at new farm. Not been there at night so might be a different story.

8.5/10Staff very friendly and attentive to service. Pork belly nice but not crispy. I didn't enjoy the side of Slaw which had far too much dressing which took away the freshness of a salad.

5.5/10We were disappointed with the table we were allocated to for lunch. We had booked online in advance to dine at The Fork. Our booking was confirmed over the phone and via email, but when we got there we were put into the Sports Bar area. We had to sit in the noisy bar on stools at 2 separate round tables. We tried to join the tables together but it was really awkward to talk and eat. According to your website, the Fork is split into 2 areas; the Laneway and the Botanical Bar & Kitchen. We were not seated in either of these areas. At the time there were actually empty tables available in the restaurant but we still were not moved. I am surprised that this decision was made by your staff. Also, there was no communication that the Pizza's weren't available due to the oven not working. We only found out after going to order meals. This should have been mentioned at the time we were seated and handed our menus. Having said that the food was good and came out quickly but overall, unfortunately, the experience was poor.

2.5/10The service was extremely disappointing. We had a table booked yet were sat out in the front bar before being tucked away behind a corner to eat dinner. The table wasn’t wiped down from the previous patrons and we weren’t even given a menu to order dinner. The food was very average with the salad being at least three days old. I won’t be returning.

9/10I took 20 people to QA Hotel and ate and drank for 2 hours. The food was great, particularly the calamari! Huge plates of food delivered quickly with smiles. Can't ask for much more than that.

4/10Our food took 1 hour to be served to us and was just awful. The gravy seems to have been poured into their pots HOURS earlier and reheated as when we got to the bottom it was clumpy and sticking to the base. All of the steaks were cooked incorrectly and had no seasoning. Salad was a small selection of lettuce with either 1 tomato or 1 piece of onion to compliment it, dressing seemed to have been sitting for quite some time as it was soggy. Really disappointed, not 1 of my 13 guests enjoyed the meal.

3/10Great spot, however booked here specifically to watch the football and have been sat in front of a brick wall after asking for seats with a clear view.

We truly did do our best to accommodate all our guests so we apologise we couldn't get you a better seat. Hopefully, you were still able to watch the game comfortably on the surrounding TV's although they were a bit smaller. 3.5/10Booked for a table of 11. Air conditioning was out in the area where our table was placed. Meals all took 30+ minutes to come out even though quite a few were 'double up's'. I'm not sure why it took long as it was not busy/near capacity. No salt and pepper on the tables and no music, it was actually a boring environment.

5/10We were disappointed in the meals that we all rated as edible, but not good enough to recommend. The pizza was very cheesy; battered fish was nearly all batter; meat on the ribs was dry, overcooked and hard to chew in several parts; the vegetarian spring rolls lacked filling and were nearly all pastry. We had been to the QA for dinner a few years ago and were impressed by the quality of the meals, so it was a shame to experience the drop off and to have spent our money on a disappointing pub dining event.

Notification that we do not take bookings in the public sports bar & bookings not required for drinkers however you can request a booth for large bookings 20+ or pertaining to sporting events please contact our functions manager. All bookings are held for 15mins from time of booking and if not seated within that 15mins booking will be released. We will endeavor to satisfy particular requests but these are not guaranteed.
