About the restaurant Raiz

Cool place and super nice staff. We got a table in the top floor with great views and privacy. Tasty and creative cooking. Prices were a bit higher than other places in Porto, but the ingredients were top quality and everything was very well-made.

This is a cozy restaurant with multiple floors so each one is like a small restaurant of its own. Great service and food. Lots of locals as well as some tourists.

The restaurant was very close to where we stayed and I have to say that we had passed by there couple of times but didn’t notice it. It is 3 or 4 stories. We dined on the 3rd floor and the view was beautiful. Miguel was our server and he is very knowledgeable and his recommendations didn’t disappoint us. The food was delicious. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

We liked almost everything except the main dish ‘the codfish’ which was much to dry.

A lovely meal here to celebrate 4 Birthdays. The tables a little squashed together. But as we were near the balcony it was better. Lovely food and not too pricey either. Would recommend for a special treat out.
Restaurant set on 3/4 floors, making it a very pleasant experience. However, bathrooms were on 2nd and ground floor. All in all a great find.

Quite disappointed with Raiza, mainly the staff (two women serving the top floor) were pretty rude. Starters were quite poor but mains were good.

This is a nice restaurant with good food and wine. We had great service up to the meal being served, after which the waitress never came back to our table. After we finished the meal and waited another 30 to 40 minutes we gave up and went downstairs to try to get the bill so we could pay and leave. It was then that the waitress finally appeared with the bill. Of the various restaurants in Porto that we dined at during our visit, this one was the only one that turned out to be a disappointment as far as service.

Staying in Porto for a week and noticed Raiz on our first day. They were fully booked that night so we made a reservation for a few days later. A very poular restaurant, so would recommend booking in advance.
Could not have been made more welcome - from being shown to our table on the second floor by the balcony, to our very friendly, helpful and informative waiter, Miguel - the whole evening felt very relaxed. The food is very traditionally Portuguese and we enjoyed some new dishes which were all delicious. Anything we were unsure about, Miguel explained and helped us make the right choices - he even explained the meaning of Gambo Zinos, the wine we'd chosen.
A real taste of Porto cuisine, in relaxed and evocative surroundings.

I was here with 3 friends on a weekend trip and this was our last night in the city. The almond codfish was amazing and I would order that dish again, we left the wine choice up to our waiter Miguel and he picked a perfect red and white wine to accompany our meal.

I would definitely eat here again xx

Some smaller language problems with the waiters but in general, I can really recommend this restaurants: the plate and dishes as well as the service. Really nice towards strangers. Great!
