gerechten met goede Indonesische smaak. Snelle, adequate en aardige bediening. Tafeltjes aan de kleine kant en de tafeltjes staan dicht op elkaar.

Had an excellent meal there as always. I highly recommend the meat rice table for 2 and especially the roasted goat meat - it's to die for! :) Cosy atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff, excellent and copious amounts of food - what else could one ask for?

Best Indonesian I have had, ever! A memorable meal indeed upon my return to the city I studied in during Erasmus. The service was also great and the vibe and atmosphere was perfect.

My glass of Prosecco was completely flat which was obviously disappointing.
I had the " Rijsttafel" menu with chicken and goat satay, spicy beef etc. These dishes themselves were delicious and tasty but the additional dishes of plain rice, fried rice, fried potatoes and bananas fried in batter were just far too much for me!

This was my second visit to Blauw. The first time I ordered the rice table but this time ordered starter and main from the menu. This was a much better experience. The rice table is too many dishes in small quantities. It was far better the three of us ordering a main dish each and sharing.

Good Dutch-Indonesian food in a nice restaurant with attentive service. The restaurant is very beautiful but cramped and busy, you sit very close to your neighbour. The rijstafel is good value and always fresh and tasty, some of the closest to what I had in Indonesia itself. I've been here 4 times now and always come back when in Utrecht.

Blauw is my favourite restaurant in Utrecht, because it offers insanely good Indonesian food (the goat sate was particularly heavenly this time!), is cosy, lively and usually has very nice staff. However, this last visit was a bit of a damper due to us having to wait over 30 minutes to order, which shouldn't really be acceptable. Although our waitress was polite, she wasn't as nice as some of the other staff we've been served by during our previous visits. Otherwise I recommend Blauw to anyone looking for an excellent Indonesian dinner.

Excellent rijstafel, fish one best of all. Reasonable prices. Nice service.
You have to book several days in advance as it is quite small and very busy.

I have been to Indonesia and the food reminded me of my visit. Of course it was not as spicy, but perhaps that's better for the Dutch public.
A bit pricy for what they offer and had more expectations of their wine, but over all a good experience.

Try the goat curry! Its fantastic. Its a fusion style so not truly Indonesian authentic, but a great meal if dining in company or alone.

Based on the reviews here, I perhaps got my hopes up. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere and good service, but I didn't find the food particularly special, or even a bit boring. To be honest, I have had tastier Indonesian food with more variety of flavours from takeaway places in Amsterdam.

Blauw is always consistent. In the last four of five years of visiting three or four times a year, I have never been disappointed. The food and service is always good. Would be nice if the restaurant was a touch bigger, with more space between the tables and a bit brighter inside, but when all is said and done, this is one of the few restaurants I visit, where I never consider the possibility that I'm not going to enjoy the food.

This was a real highlight of our trip to Utrecht for the Grand Depart 2015! We had the meat option of the tasting menus and were delighted by every dish, not a single disappointment. A variety of complex authentic flavours to tease the palate. It's very simple - if you visit Utrecht (and you really should) then - GO HERE. Thank you to all the charming staff and the talenetd team in the kitchen.

I went there for dinner with some friends. It was very full, so better book it in advance. Very cozy place. I like the house white wine! Food is delicious and good looking! Price is a bit high.

I chose the restaurant based on the reviews I read on tripadvisor and I wasn't disappointed. The food was outstanding, all of it. Would happily recommend this restaurant. Suggest reserving a table as it is always busy. Was nice to be able to see the food being prepared in the kitchen by people who obviously know how to make all this kind of food naturally, this place is The Real Deal!!! A must-visit restaurant in Utrecht.

I ate alone on a Saturday night, which would normally guarantee slow & inattentive service at most restaurants. On the contrary here though, the staff at Blauw Utrecht were absolutely delightful, friendly & efficient.
The food is the most authentic Indonesian I have eaten outside of the Far East - it was absolutely delicious. The riestafel at other tables looked lovely but seemed a little OTT for 1 person on their own, so I had Laksa Blauw, a prawn soup with coconut milk followed by Bindang (beef) Rendang. The Rendang was fantastic - just like being back in Bali, & came with 6 accompanying side dishes inc. 2 type of rice, pickled vegetables, cucumber salad etc.
Overall, a great experience and highly recommended.
