Although the AH website shows availability in weekends, Bolyari restaurant doesn't accept this type of reservation on Saturday and Sunday. Once we arrived to the restaurant and showed our reservation email, we have been indeed asked to leave and come back any day between Monday and Friday.

Visited based on IENS recommendation. We were not disappointed: we were greeted warmly and food was good.
We started with the pretty large Shopska salad, nice and fresh with Bulgarian cheese together with homemade bread.
Followed by Musaka and Barbarian Shaslick. The portions of both were outstanding! ;)
Meat was very well grilled, very soft.
We ended dinner with a nice simple dessert: Bulgarian yogurt topped with some honey on top of a cookie.
Both the wine of the house (red) and the shot of Rakia were a good addition.
The lady serving us, apparently the only waitress, was very gentle and friendly.
The interior is nothing special, a bit old fashioned, but actually not too bad.

I celebrated my engagement at restaurant Bolyari. It was a very special, romantic experience. We were given a bottle of sparkling wine as a gift. The waitress was incredibly sweet and kind to us. She had decorated the table with flowers and candles and the food itself was fantastic as well! We're definitely coming back! It's one of the best places to celebrate an occasion in The Hague!

Being a Bulgarian, I am veeery critical about the taste of the dishes and I have very high expectations of the restaurant overall.

When I first entered Bolyari, it felt like I was in one of the old, very authentic, cozy, special restaurants in Bulgaria. They have recreated the atmosphere incredibly well!!

The second thing that struck me when I sat down, was the hospitality and warmth of the waitress. She was not just serving the food and the drinks - she was doing it with all her love. And that really made me feel welcome, at home. She would treat every client in an equally loving, but unique manner. And that is something you just have to experience, it's hard to describe.

And the food. I don't even know where to start. I have tried numerous dishes and have brought all my friends there. Every taste is amazing, every dish is prepared with so much care. This is what REAL Bulgarian food tastes like.

I highly recommend it to anyone who is open to trying different cuisines. I bet you're going to find at least a few things you like there!

Great hearty meals are served in this Bulgarian resturant tucked away in a small street in the city center. Might not be the best for vegetarians but carnivores will have a field day :) Great service. Definitely worth a visit.
