About the restaurant Restaurant du Loup

Had the magret de Canard done with Foie Gras and a starter salad. Two glasses of house wine selected by the proprietor. Portions were very decent, and were well prepared and excellent.

Fantastic food in a tradition French setting. Friendly staff and good service. Not the cheapest place we visited but certainly the best. Make sure you book though as many were turned away during the evening.

First tip... Go hungry! We went after a few drinks and this hampered our desire to eat the wonderul food. However, all in all this place is excellent. The food is typically French but cooked extremely well. The chef clearly has a lot of talent. The staff are friendly and helpful with the menu. The restaurant itself is basic but a lovely traditional French feel to it, which gives it its charm. We loved our dinner and we are foodies, so this place is for people wanting good, rich, French cuisine. Enjoy!

Very good quality, traditional French food, with some interesting touches such as courgette jam with cheese. A great meal including fois gras which is a must try in this part of the world.

We booked on short notice with a rather large group for such a small intimate restaurant, and Madame Peiffer called me back promptly to confirm. Our group was looking for a high quality friendly French meal, rather than the usual boring touristy thing on every square. It was wonderful, with the owner serving us personally, telling us her favorites, recommending the wines, etc. The food was outstanding, ranging from prawns to duckling to lamb to several preparations of foie gras. She instantly knew I wanted a glass of Sauternes with my foie gras -- she accommodated some folks in our group with unusual dietary needs. Everyone had a great time and the bill was very reasonable after the #1 menu and two wines. We're going to try to eat here again before leaving Bordeaux in a few days.

The warm greeting and attentive service fully complimented the innovative and tasty food. A reasonably priced range of suggested menus on offer here together with a good a la carte selection and a small but competitively priced wine list. A really nice atmosphere ensures our return here when next in Bordeaux. Recommended unreservedly.

Fab restaurant amazing pomme de terre starter and monkfish main. Wines all amazing too. Our meal was expensive as we ordered champagne but I think could be more reasonable as there are a couple of menu's to choose from. The lady was very welcoming and charming. Highly recommended!
