Small intimate setting for 8 indoor tables - unassuming but very comfortable. Paper napkins tell you it’s informal but don’t be. Isles..the food is fantastic, I had cocotte de mer - a seafood, fish stew with an uunbelievable sauce, tender and aromatic. I went on the early side at 7pm and within 30 minutes every table was filled.. guess the locals know a good thing in a town with many wonderful choices.

We have used L'Aristide previously and will used it again next year. We enjoy fish and shellfish and they handle them really well. The gambas as a starter are particularly good. It is quite small and it is busy and it is always best to book in advance.

I pre booked Restaurant L'Aristide in anticipation of it being busy and also due to the good reviews it received from other customers and I was not disappointed.

The staff were all great from start to finish, very helpful when it came to the language barrier and menu items (which were the finest local cuisine) as well as attentive and cheery!

The restaurant is within St Malo's old town so the setting could not be any better, it is small and cosy so I would recommend booking a table in advance. I also liked to art-deco additions to the restaurant area including paintings and ornaments, it made it feel more original and less uniform as well.

If you like your food, you will love Restaurant L'Aristide for its attention to detail and local, home made food. I had the wild prawns for starter followed by Sea Bream and ratatouille and I cleared both plates, what more can you ask for?

If you want to eat some proper, traditional French food in a relaxed setting, go to Restaurant L'Aristide.

A real gem. Small, intimate atmosphere. Very attentive, friendly, caring, informative but not overwhelming or intrusive service. Menu is limited to a small selection of outstanding dishes. Far better than other places with overloaded menus of less impressive meals. Fish outstanding. Wine list small but excellent. We would happily go again. N.B. Book in advance - it fills very quickly and a number of people had to be turned away.

Very small menu which in my mind means good food and it was lovely. Our food was beautifully presented, the manager was extremely friendly and attentive and the chocolate cake for dessert was delicious.

1) We ordered meat and it was really tough, though tuna salad with algae was good, so was the Breton tiramisu;
2) Not a place for younger children who are used to eat usual children menu. No menu for them here and not much choice for them from a normal menu.
