I'll be honest, I don't get the hype. This restaurant has great reviews across several sites, which is typically a pretty fool-proof way of finding somewhere good, and given the rave reviews I expected a homey diamond in the rough. Some may still find it to be this! However I wouldn't personally choose to return. I will say that our server was extremely gracious and provided excellent service. That was my favorite part of our experience. The food was fine, if unremarkable. We ordered the stuffed schnitzel and pork with dumplings. It was inexpensive and I agree with reviewers that the portion sizes were larger than other places we went in Vienna. I personally would prefer a smaller plate of amazing food than a large plate of ok food, but if portion sizes are important to you, you will be pleased here. Where some 'home cooking' restaurants end up being a pretty amazing experience, although the food here was by no means bad, it was pretty boring. Just nothing to write home about. The experience itself was a little strange. We were the only people in the entire restaurant the entire time we were there in the evening, and there was seating for probably a hundred people there. They had a very heavily scented candle or two lit in the area we were in, which if you're sensitive to scents was pretty unpleasant, but may not have bothered most people. The restaurant seems to be set in some kind of a community college-type building? The bathrooms in the basement have a weird locker room feel. By the end of our meal we decided not to bother with dessert. For all of the positive elements (friendly staff, hearty portions, inexpensive) I can't say that I would choose to go back, however travelers may find this is just what they were looking for if they want something unchallenging with nice staff.

Das Essen war wunderbar in riesigen Portionen und der Service super nett und aufmerksam. Wenn das Ambiente uriger wäre, dann wäre es der perfekte Wirt für uns! Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Restaurangen ser inte så mycket ut för världen men maten är riktigt god med stora portioner och priset väldigt överkomligt. Väldigt trevlig personal dessutom.
