Totally lovely dining experience. They have taken every care to protect the staff and the customer safety. There is a one-way system in the restaurant. And outside they have a staggered that chairs in a wonderfully genius way to ensure people can sit together yet still adhere to the guidelines. The food was absolutely incredible each dish immaculately served. I can’t wait to go back again.

Wow. This place is incredible. For a start the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Always there when you need them. More importantly the food is exceptional The tuna starter was out of this world and the steak.. they way they cook it , it’s the best you’ve ever had. OMG can’t recommend this place enough

In general very good place and food, however the staff is not attentive to your request, like for instance they are specialized in avoiding eye contact not to be overloaded, when we walk to a staff to ask the bill on purpose they would get attention, they still forgot, we had to ask again 10 min later, I don't want to think they ignored.. quite common practice / situation in Amsterdam area to be honest

The lobster was mushy, we had the impression it came out of a freezer and was then heated in the microwave. The tournedos that was ordered medium came quite well done. It took ten minutes to find our coats. All in all a disappointing experience. When a resultant specializes in lobster and steak, it should perform significantly better. Somehow tourists do not seem to mind.

Very good food. Friendly and very attractive staff and service. Things are a bit cramped and dark. The restaurant would do well to get rid of a few of the middle tables. Very good oysters, quality and nicely grilled tenderloin. Tasty desert. I would change the way that the salad is served.

The restaurant didn’t have our reservation and had to accommodate a table for 8 even though I booked a month in advance. The bought us Jack Daniels whisky when someone ordered Black Label. They didn’t know which wine we had when we ordered a second bottle f the same kind. They didn’t get bread and butter for table. They didn’t bring the fries and salad for each plate instead got for half the table and said that refills are free. When asked for an aperitifs they didn’t know any of the shots we asked for. They didn’t clear the table after we ate. What more can I say?? Either the management changed or the staff need training. While every time we ask for something they are attentive and they were nice but they are unprofessional and bad service extremely bad.

We have been regular customers of this restaurant since they opened about 10 years ago. We have been coming back because they were the only place in Amsterdam where you could get a 'melt on your tongue steak'. Tonight we visited again after a bit of a pause (2 young kids will do that) and were utterly disappointed. The steak was chewy and thready in texture and not the smooth buttery steak we knew and loved... We were going to send it back, but then got told the new manager switched supplier recently and this was the me standard. Given that with kids or nights out are rare the shock and horror ( did I mention disappointed) was major... Their current offering is totally mediocre and not worth the expense. And we have no intention of going back until they switch back to their original supplier (owner, I hope you read this) which we really hope they will cause they used to be amazing... But it seems all good things some to an end... Here is hoping for better times :)

Restaurant Red is one of our favorite restaurants in Amsterdam. The menu is simply surf 'n turf. Both the lobster and the steak is delicious. The wine selection is also good. This would be a good spot for both a romantic dinner as well as for a large group (recommend booking in advance).

Great concept with only steak and lobster on the menu. But would expect both to be excellent and while the steaks was perfectly cooked the lobster was overdone (a lot). Good to go if you're late as they serve until midnight

Love this place and the concept is fantastic! Steak, lobster or surf'n'turf....what not to love! Steaks are extremely tender, lobster fresh and tasteful (agree with Het Parool that it is the best lobster in town). Also service is sublime; levels above normal standard in this town! A place where I keep coming back again and again!
