    The Staff was really nice. They explained every cours. We liked the concept of the three main cours and that you can add another one if you like. If you don't want to think about what you get for dinner I would totally recommend it.

    It was our first experience in a "Fine Dining" restaurant. We had the 3-course menu and a bottle of red wine. It was a very pleasant experience! The size of the dishes is adequate and you can really see (and taste!) the craftsmanship of the chef on the plate. Highly recommended!

    Excellent bar, food, service and wine selection! Very delicious plates all fromm the big green egg. The carrot soup was amazing! My wife loved the oysters

    High quality and very tasty meat and meat only. (almost no side dishes apart from few veggies in the main course). It would be nice toasked about the preference for cooking time (i.e. all meat was served as medium rare). Did not like the desert, very sweet with peace of fried bacon ?!

    The meat is tasty, however quite fat and without veggies. The staff is very polite and nice. You can't choose any option regarding the level of cooking of your meat. Based on the reviews I have red before, I expected much more.

    Food and wine was nice and the atmosphere in the restaurant is warm and cosy. But the service was extremely disappointing. We ere looking forward to 4 or 5 courses, but Ended up only having 2 and were spoken to extremely rudely by the manager. A real shame, but we won’t be going back.

    I was really looking forward to eat at meat Cave. The idea and the concept was promising. The service was really good and the staff was friendly. The decoration and the atmosphere have the right touch for a city restaurant . Unfortunately, the meat was hard to chew for most of the dishes. Luckily the main course was good. But we left wanting more. We were expecting higher quality meat, more tender. The flavoring was good, the spices were great, but the meat we were served was really hard.

    Great food, lovely service, we thought that the restaurant can improve the acoustics of the restaurant. Very noisy and hard to understand what someone else on the other end of the table was saying. We would definitely come back, one big meatfest!

About the restaurant

Everybody who loves a proper culinary dinner is welcome to enjoy a tastingmenu up to seven courses at Restaurant Van de Leur. The prime focus is on sustainable fish, meat and vegetable dishes. The chef prepares all courses live on multiple Big Green Egg Kamado’s. The whole menu is available with only fish and meat or fully vegetarian.

The fresh tastingmenu will be left to surprise for the guests, whom can choose from three up to seven courses. It’s possible to complete your dinner with a wine or beer pairing. Van de Leur is working sustainable by personally selecting all farmers and fishermen who they work with. Please note your dietary wishes upon reservation and be spoiled by the team of brother and sister Pim & Joëlle van de Leur.

Restaurant Van de Leur in The Hague stands out with its price winning cocktailbar Bricks “Hooch & Brew”, which enables it to also complete your dinner with paired cocktails. Sit down on the terrace or enjoy the diplomatic table with up to twenty guests.
