After a warm welcome we opted for the tasting menu and every course was excellent. A really enjoyable experience. The service was polite, attentive and friendly. The surroundings were interesting and traditional. Great atmosphere without music in the background. The prices were very reasonable. I recommend this restaurant.

I’ve been here many times in different contexts, family, friends, business, alone. It is an institution, of course. This time I found them to be efficient and respectful, but almost surly in their manner. Very dry and functional. The food was excellent and the wine list is outstanding. Overall though a bit disappointing as an experience.

Our experience was once of the best we’ve had over many years of travelling. The service was impeccable, and although we didn’t speak much Spanish or our server much English, we communicated very well. His recommendations were delicious and we enjoyed every bite. The sherry (recommendation to complete the meal) was smooth and satisfying!

They put us in an area that was very busy traffic. There were other tables free, I tried to change, put the guy with glasses who was in charge to seat the persons on the table was very arogant, saying that other people made reservation months before. The famous Cadiz Rabo the torro had few pieces o plastic bag in it, and the taste was really bad, comparing to what we served in other restaurants. Avoid this expensive restaurant, small pieces of plastic in the food, God damm"it!

This is the second time we have visited this restaurant. It is a lovely old fashioned restaurant with quality food and service. It is nice to see so many locals using the restaurant.

Old fashioned and a bit wooden. Our starters were good but the main dished were very disappointing , my Jewfish was over cooked and dry . Overall we feel this was our worst meal during our week in Andalusia .

Amazing restaurant! Our favorite so far in all of Spain! Our waitress was the kindest lady. With limited Spanish speaking skills, she really took the time to try and explain the menu. She even helped us by calling a taxi! 10/10 would recommend!

Beautiful interior but food overpriced and disappointing. We found our fish and potatoes in saffron rather bland and for a main course very much on the small side. The house wine was characterless

Good quality kitchen. Waiter and table master bored and almost rude. Sorry but we will not come back. Too overrated and high priced for the service delivered. May be they were too successful in the past and did not care enough to keep the quality high. Pitty..

WOW !!! We had the best foods experience. THE SMALL SHRIMP FRITTER “EL FARO. was simply AMAZING!!! It’s a MUST! The SLIGHTLY SPICY MARINATED WILD RED TUNA CUBES WITH SESAME is great! Also great is the PAN-SEARED CARDINAL PRAWNS OR WITH JEREZ BRANDY (100 GRS.); Another must is the Gambas al ajillo. ????????????. I can’t wait to go back to El Faro.

Decepcionante experiencia, ya que íbamos con muchas expectativas tras haber comido varias veces en la barra de El Faro. El aperitivo que te ponen de papas aliñás estaban pasadas , llevaban hechas un tiempo y se notaba. Pedimos unas tortillitas de camarones y eran como chicle, habíamos probado las de El Ventorrillo de el chato, espectaculares, y nada que ver. Pedimos también rabo de toro y uno de las piezas de carne sabía muy fuerte, cómo carne pasada, nunca me había ocurrido algo así. En cuanto a las croquetas con sashimi de atún, no nos convencieron y mucho menos el precio. Creemos que ha perdido mucha calidad después de ser el restaurante de referencia en Cádiz , el problema es que los precios siguen siendo elevados y no se corresponde con la experiencia gastronómica. Una pena.

Sorry, but not worth the visit. Ambiente nice and convenient. Service not interested, the head waiter more arrogant than any guest could be. Dishes neither traditional nor innovative, just banal. Sorry again, but not worth the visit, not worth the money.
