This evaluation concerns “La Torre del Principe”, main restaurant in the Parador itself. There is a second, “Taberna la Pinta” on the walls surrounding the fortress – which I would rank better and which I would recommend. Unfortunately, The Fork does not distinguish between the two restaurants. First thing in the evening, our reservation was not found. The waiter, however, gave us a place in the adjacent gallery, which was okay for us. Funnily enough the main hall remained half empty during the whole evening. From the description and the look we expected a gastronomic cuisine, but we were disappointed, the dishes and their presentation were quite simple and without any subtleties. A dessert ordered as “Filloas rellenas de compota de manzana y caramelo de queimada” turned out to be stuffed with rice pudding instead (!), the creams were quite tasteless. To mention a plus: The quality of the fish was quite good and the waitresses, although not very experienced, were friendly and helpful.
