About the restaurant Roadhouse Bar and Grill

A roadside diner with panache

Located within the Atura Hotel in Albury, Roadhouse Bar and Grill is not your average roadside diner. This restaurant has plenty of cool and panache. The bold interior design features bursts of colour and contemporary features like geometric-patterned rugs and perky pineapple ornaments giving this bar and grill plenty of personality. Serving an American-inspired roadhouse menu - think nachos, a bucket of buffalo wings, popcorn prawns and house made beef lasagna, this is one vibrant place to dine. Serving breakfast from 6:30am with a buffet loaded with morning goodies and dinner from 6pm, this is the perfect place for weary travellers looking to refuel or locals looking for a great night out. You’ll be hard pressed to find a better location than Roadhouse Bar & Grill.

Best dish: Roadhouse Sundae featuring local Gundowring Dairy ice cream, macadamia, salted caramel and dark chocolate ice cream, cream, honeycomb and meringues

Generally ok, but it was a very busy night with a private function, so a handful of tables were relegated to the bar area next to the active pool table. If you have the PGR card it is reasonable (maybe expect the really expensive steaks) but on the night quality was so so, service was good - when you got it ! Even at 50% black discount, the ambiance, food and service was not commensurate with the price. Suspect on a normal night it would be much better.

had schnitzel parmigiana... had the first mouthful and it taste like it had come straight out of the freezer and put in microwave. Soggy, wet, and no flavor. Unsure how they got something so simple so wrong.

It's a pandemic in society, but a venue as nice as this should insist on dress codes that do not permit scruffy shorts and thongs.
We made the effort to be 'neat casual' but, overall, folk were dresses for Maccas.
It would be embarrassing to entertain a business associate under these circumstances.
