10/10Amazing food, vegetables in the best version, made with love. Great staff, helpful but not overwhelming. Nice ambience: simple but cosy. Definately a must when you are in Oporto, not only for vegetarians!

6/10Being served a starter that was not ordered and charging for it… unprofessional. Asking for tap water and getting charged for TAP water in a labeled bottle…unprofessional. Food was very bland and we had to ask for salt and pepper. Table side pouring of bubbles that literally was a half glass instead of a full pour took us back. We are both fine dining servers and wanted to have a wonderful night out and left disappointed in every aspect of of the evening.

7.5/10I was super excited for the food at Roots but, unfortunately, was left a little disappointed. The presentation of the food was amazing, the taste, however, wasn't as great as I had expected (based on the reviews I had read); I thought my dish (mushrooms, gravy and green veggies) was quite oily. I appreciate that Roots offers vegetarian fine dining, which is why we chose this restaurant, but with that said I expected a little more than just (not very filling) veggies on my plate/a better focus on protein. Nevertheless, the service was very friendly, the location and ambience was super and the drinks tasted great.

10/10Everything we ordered was delicious! Different textures were perfectly added to each of the dishes, and flavours were amazing! The restaurant is very well designed (deco, lighting, tableware), and music is well-chosen (although maybe a bit loud for a quiet evening, but not excessively). We highly recommend getting the Gnocchi with Cashews and the "Scallops" & Okra. To be highlighted: Geraldine's outstanding service!! 10/10.

6/10We chose this as it was vegetarian but the selection was still limited in my view. The starters were good but very small. The main was of a decent portion but as with most restaurants in Porto, they seem afraid of spices. On the whole it was good with decent wine options.

10/10We’ve had a lovely dinner at Roots in Porto. The location is stunning, at the entrance we’ve been welcomed by Thales who took care of us during the first part of the dinner. He helped us choosing among the menu and also recommended a very good wine. Thales really took good care of us and his service was excellent, big shout out to him. The second half of the dinner, Geraldina attended us and she was very gentle and friendly. Everything was delicious! We opted for the onion soup, scallops and wellington + apple pie. The excellent ingredients and the talent in the kitchen was in every bite. This place has everything: good food & wine, great location and an amazing staff. We’ll be back to try the rest of the menu :)
