Fantastic restaurant a gem in Montepulciano. Filet was best I’ve ever tasted and the sides spinach and the white beans were spectacular very reasonably priced and but this up against any 5 star restaurant in the United States
Excellent antipasti and tagliata, great vino nobile, friendly service. Restaurant is small and the illumination is very bright. We will return!
Rosso rubino is a husband and wife team. The food is consistently fresh and delicious!!! Service can be slow but it’s Italy. You will not be disappointed. They are always present and anxious for everyone to enjoy their meal.
The service was excelent and all what we order was good. The prices are normal.
A beautiful small restaurant in the quaint town of Montepulciano. The husband and wife team work together very effectively. The pasta was incredible, and like another reviewer stated, the panna cotta was the best I've ever had. Highly recommended.
Intimate, cozy, casual w/authentic Tuscan cuisine prepared artfully and simply, but full of the flavors of the land....,a lovely wine list. The chef and owner is humble and knows his craft ever so well!
Quality of the food was really good.
Excellent Tuscan cooking, seemed a very authentic style restaurant - not touristy. Good recommendation on a glass of wine. A minor disappointment was that that the lady serving did not explain that my main/secondi did not come with any vegetables, salad or potato. When I asked if it came with anything or I could order something, I was not give any options, the man disappeared and a handful of green leaves appeared in a small bowl within a few minutes. When we received the bill, this was charged at €5, which seemed overpriced, particularly given I wouldn't have chosen this option. Minor when considered with the wider experiences.
Ambiente curato, cibo ottimo!!!
This place is deserving of its high ranking in TripAdvisor. It’s a small two person operation that produces excellent food. Service is very friendly. There are just a few tables so make sure you reserve in advance.
Great little spot with creative dishes that remained true to traditional flavors. Love the pici with spicy tomato sauce, sausage and polenta and the baked cheese with guanciale.
What a team! Fantastic food - a truly great experience,, Had to go 2 nights in a row, Wild boar beef pasta sauces wow...Be back soon.
We love this restaurant. The food is always fabulous, home cooked delicious and with local, seasonal ingredients. You will never go wrong here. The locals know this too so make sure you have a reservation.
A really enjoyable experience and both the owners were fantastic.
We come to Italy twice a year and try to find the best restaurants in every town we visit. Our meal at Rosso Rubino is one of the best we've had in Italy. It's definitely a new favorite. We later found out the chef/owner has personally cooked for 9 time MotoGP Champion Valentino Rossi, the Pope and a number of celebrities.
Wonderful homemade food by master chef Vittorio, with outstanding service provided by Christina. The pastas are artfully made, and the meat expertly prepared. A great, reasonably priced wine list with lots of small local producers represented.
This place was unbelievable! Such a small, cozy, intimate, and quiet (especiallly for a restaurant in Italy) spot. The owner and his were very welcoming and attentive and the food was OUT OF THIS WORLD! Amazing amazing amazing. I was stuffed by the end and then the table next to me ordered a giant steak florentine and I almost felt the urge buy one too. We got the cheese and sliced pork to start, the freshest salad ever, stewed boar meat (can't even explain how good this was), and black truffle steak. We usually never order or enjoy dessert but we had to order their chocolate cake drizzled in chocolate and stuffed with ganache! Make reservations ahead of time. All the tables were reserved when we got there (& for a very good reason!)
Excellent thru and thru. Beautiful that the owner/cook comes to serve tables at the end .
Wonderful place, great couple who own the restaurant. Superb location We will certainly return. Outstanding food. Highly recommended
Fresh ingredients, nice atmosphere and fantastic food. Especially the wild boar stew.
Amazing food and service, a Must go to in Montepulciano!
The hostess was really stressed out when we walked in the door as if she didn't have a place for us despite reservations (albeit not a lot of time between making the reservation and showing up). Nevertheless, we were very uncomfortable thinking we should rush to vacate the table for others. We almost left because we did not want to feel rushed or unwelcome. In the end, the table next to us remained empty for our entire dinner and the restaurant emptied before we left. The food was typical simple tuscan fare; good. Dessert was fantastic. We would return again but only after checking that this particular hostess/waiter was not there.
Great evening with small but very good menu
Rosso Rubino was a highlight of our trip in Montepulciano. We arrived late for our reservation due to our train being delayed from Venice. However, we were welcomed in even though they were ready to close. We were treated like princesses. Even though neither us nor the owners spoke Italian they went out of their way to describe the menu to us. The food was excellent, atmosphere very nice and welcoming, and the owners went overboard to make our dining experience a memorable one. Thank you for a great dinner! Hope to dine with you again soon.
Simply amazing! This cute little restaurant in the middle of Montepulciano run by a local couple serves delicious food and great service! I would highly recommend it!
Excellent food. We tried the pasta, beef and boar. DELICIOUS meal! The best we have had in Italy!! Also very reasonably priced. The owners were so nice. We plan to go back before we leave Montepulciano.
Fantastic food. Would definitely go again.
Delicious local cuisine. Very small, intimate restaurant, just what we were looking to experience. Great wine chosen by the Cbhef. Thank you for a delicious meal only sorry we didn't have room for the chocolate cake.
Cena fantasia ritorneremo
Recommended by out hotel, this was a great choice and the best meal in Tuscany so far. Traditional Tuscan fare, a long list of specials and charming and conscientious hosts. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
Perfection. The pasta, the carpaccio, the chocolate cake, the panda cotta, the service.
Friendly service, authentic dishes, nice atmosphere and reasonable prices. We would definitely recommend this place.
Great meal in Montepulciano and one of the lesser touristy places we went to. I enjoyed the chef stopping by our table to say hello. Very homey and comfortable atmosphere.
