We went there straight after we landed as our hotel was very close. Our flight was slightly delayed so we got there a bit later than anticipated. But staff were extremely accommodating. Food was amazing too.

They allow smoking in the dining area in the back. Get seated in front

Our waiter Mauro was excellent. He helped us with the food and wine selection and we felt very welcome. We shared the fresh caught Seabass and it was delicious as were the wines he chose for us based on our description of what we enjoyed in a wine. All around very relaxing, comfortable evening. Would definitely go back. The only thing they could do is soften the lighting in the dining room.

We enjoyed our dinner at Sancho, right across the street from our Avenida hotel, on our first night in Lisbon. Fish on ice greet you at the door, but so do very welcoming waiters. We had the sea bass for two and it was cooked to perfection. The added bonus is the waiters will debone the fish at your table, artfully using only a spoon and fork. It was a treat to talk with our waiter Paulo, so friendly and informative about Lisbon and the fishing off the coast. Just in case it matters, his English was great, but I sensed that wasn't the case with most of the staff. Recommended.

Impeccable service with smiles. Delicious food, especially the Sancho fillet and chocolate cake. Lovely, romantic old world setting - ask for a window table. Reasonable prices. Gorgeous experience! Best of our six nights in Lisbon!

Seafood is their specialty - order it - you won't be disappointed. The Grouper In A Pan is amazing. It is probably the best fish dish I have ever eaten.
