If you’re in the mood for seafood, and we were, I can’t imagine a restaurant in Bologna you’d enjoy more. The Selmi 22 appetizer is a great blend of the freshest crudo and some imaginative cooked dishes. My companion and I both had excellent pastas as a main — hers was spaghetti in a white clam sauce and mine was strozzapreti (a short slightly twisted pasta, aka “priest stranglers”) with squid and asparagus. Highly recommended. The bread basket had an excellent assortment. We asked for advice on the wine and had a very nice, and not at all expensive, Lambrusco rose, a selection we would not have imagined for ourselves. The service was attentive and not at all intrusive. I speak Italian, but my companion does not, and the wait staff was both patient with me and responsive to her. A perfect evening.

The food was pretty good. If you get spaghetti with clams, be prepared to deal with about 75 small clams. The service was the best part. Andrei went above and beyond. It was our anniversary and he brought us dessert with a sparkler and complimentary drinks after dinner. You should go here.

We found the starters and pasta courses to be excellent whilst the mains were disappointing. As a dedicated fish restaurant you would expect the catch of the day to be available on a Thursday evening but it was not so further limiting the main course options. Certainly worth a visit but perhaps stick to the starters and pasta primi courses! Nice location and as for a non smoking outdoor table as you are placed into a raised area outside. Friendly, helpful staff and a very relaxed atmosphere.

If you are looking for very fresh seafood this far inland, this is a fine choice. The menu may include some specials depending on what is available. A strong wine list, especially for white wine. Pleasant atmosphere and congenial staff.

Excellent seafood, good wine, and friendly service. From the starters: Really enjoyed the octopus, cooked to perfection, crunchy on the outside soft and tasty on the inside - anchovies on the burrata was a real treat. Gnocchi with gamberetti was incredibly tasty, while tuna fillet with toasted pistachio coating was the highlight of the whole meal, really amazing. A nice selection of beautiful italian white wines, and good choice of bubbles. Dessert: The apple crumble was the cherry on top. In conclusiom: A great seafood place downtown Modena right under the Ghirlandina, if you needed to take a break from tortellini, bautiful gnocco fritto and tigelle: who could ask for anything more? Can’t wait to be back!

Amazing appetiser and pasta! Everyone working there are so cheerful and the boss is so warmed. The chef was even smiling and dancing when we walked past the kitchen. Not to be missed Restaurante ????????????????

Best seafood pasta I ever have . We have squid/asparagus pasta & lobster pasta, packed with good flavors & fresh seafood. The raw oyster & red shrimps are also very fresh & tasty. Many local visits on a Thursday night, it’s a good sign! The waitresses are also very friendly & helpful. We don’t speak Italian, they did a good job to make our needs served. Already want to go for a second visit!

Food was absolutely excellent! What a trendy upbeat place with variety of menu options. You can have a variety of fish dishes and presentation is excellent! Waiter was extremely kind and helpful, came to ask us several times whether food was meeting expectations. The only downside is that the place is located on a street with quite a bit of traffic including big buses passing on it and there is a construction next to it so the ambiance is not ideal.

This restaurant is located in Modena city center and in my opinion is the best fish restaurant in town. Food quality is excellent, wine card full of interesting wines. The service is friendly and technically perfect.

Innovative dishes with very fresh ingredients. The waitress was very attentive despite having multiple tables. Never felt rushed or neglected. Will definitely return!
