About the restaurant Sequenza

First in line

Sequenza is a small and unwitnessed restaurant on the Spui in The Hague. The natural colours, with many plants and white linnen on the tables give the whole a feel of calm class. Like everything is under controle, and yes, it is! The Italian oriented menu is a pearl and when the asparagus or scallops season starts, Sequenza is first in line. Enjoy it!

Warm welcome and very good service. Food was good and well prepared. Considering the rating of over a 9 in The Fork, we expected something more. Bit of a surprise element or unexpected (combination of) flavors.

it was a very hot evening and we were therefore forced to eat outside in the garden area, which is not a very clean or charming setting and which is looked down upon by neighbours from the adjoining buildings. All in all a very disappointing experience for what should have been a fine dining event for my wife's birthday.
The food was good but the main course of cod fish which was tasty but was accompanied by a very wet and insipid tasting sauce. The service was attentive and professional.

Excellent service, great food and minimal but warm decor. The wine pairings were spot on. And often underestimated, the acoustics are good. Will come back more often.

The food was excellent in the right proportions. The service was somewhat unconventional and awkward at times, other than that I would definitely recommend this small discreet restaurant.

Lovely meal. Simple menu, 3 starters, 3 mains (one veggie for both). Small number miner of tables so they can focus on the food. Great wines. I would return!

Smaller restaurant with good food. The atmosphere is a little bit tense though and the waiter tends to be a bit on the too formal side. The waitress though was much nicer and more relaxed and came through more respectful towards the clients.

Great food “paintings”
In this era of a rich available selection of exquisite beers with flavor richnesses easily trumping wine flavors in general it is really a con of this restaurant not to offer a few special beers which match the food. The only beer that could be ordered was a tiny Hertog Jan beer, which is oké, but I expected more from such a high graded restaurant. There shelves are full of all kind of liquors. There surely must be place for some refined special beers.
