Shanghai Papa

Great personal service with useful recommendations on dishes. Nice decors and lots of special beers to choose from. The tarbut with vinegar sauce was excellent. The cha siu was tender but wished it was roasted more as I missed the crunchy exterior.

Although the decoration in the restaurant brings you a feel of old Shanghai city, the restaurant´s name and the overall setting are misleading, since the menu was not even closer to any Shanghainese dish (expect for the "xiao long bao"). The entire menu consisted of Cantonese food. However, the overall food was good, original and different from the other traditional Cantonese restaurants I have tried in Rotterdam, for example the "Enoki mushroom rolls with coconut". The service was great and attentive, which stands out from the other restaurants. The whole experience was positive and nice, but do not expect to get Shanghainese food.

Only recently open d but already a great place to dine. They have “soft opened” and are working towards their grand opening. We all loved the food. We had a selection of dim sum and some mains. All where excellent with xia long bao as standout dish. Service was prompt and correct. Hope they wil extend the cocktail menu a bit over time. Well recommend!!

Authentic Chinese food in a modern setting that evokes the Shanghai of the 1920s. The menu is diverse and covers all time classics such as xiao long bao, baos or Peking duck, but also innovative creations that are equally delightful. We were surprised by the portion size of the side dishes, so make sure to have appetite when you order those!

Love the ambiance of Shanghai Papa, its modern but traditional. The food was good, my favorite would be the cot fish and steamed rice pot. Will definitely come back here!
