Forgot Shendish was there. Nice atmosphere, really friendly staff. Lovely restaurant area overlooking gardens, very bright, lots of floor to ceiling windows. Just a nice pleasant experience on a wet rainy day. Little raspberry mousse cakes were lovely, along with the little apple crumbles and chocolate stack. Scones with fresh clotted cream n jam pots. Made us think we would come back and try the dinner restaurant in future. Would suggest Shendish do a bit more marketing on their afternoon teas as we literally just stumbled on it . Good find 👏

The staff are really friendly and attentive. The Orangery was lovely the only negative was there was a large group of young men who were obviously having a great time. They were so loud we were having to raise our voices to hear each other which was not the best. Our food was delicious and came really hot.

We booked this hotel and restaurant as a birthday treat for my wife. The restaurant was very relaxing, the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was really good quality - would come back to the restaurant in isolation.

The restaurant was fine with good service. The menu was adequate; the wine choice was great. I had the trout which was excellent but the vegetables were bland and bitter.

We were surprised to find we were the only table booked for lunch that day, but the that happed to us the last time we got together....before lockdown! The food and service we could not fault and at no time did we feel rushed in any way. We had a lot to catch up on so lunch went on until 4pm. Great to catch up over a great lunch. First class.

I was very disappointed with the food. We chose the halal range which was given as an option- only to receive one egg and cress sandwiche, one cheese sandwich, one cheese and pickle and the final sandwich a soft cheese and cucumber. My friend who chose the non halal option received a ham sandwich instead. Honestly beed to think about offering chicken sandwiches, seafood or something which has more inspiration. I wasnt happy and would not be coming back. Scones were lovely and warm but desserts were not great, bakewell tart was dry, cheesecake was more like cheese sponge with the base being the sponge and cheesecake was too heavy. The staff were very attentive and cannot fault the service.

We have been going to shendish for valentines, teas ect for several years but unfortunately have seen a fall in standards, if you are asked to pay over £40for a meal you would at least expect a table cloth .we will not be returning until standards improve.

The restaurant is inside a hotel where you can play golf outside. Is a nice place and not bad if you would like to use as a venue for your wedding day, you have a lots of places to make photo shooting. We wanted to try their afternoon tea. It cost was 20£/p I thought that their offer would be more generous about food but we received 3 pieces of sandwiches per head, dry and poor of ingredients, 1 macaroon, 1 small slice of cake and 1 small cheesecake? I wouldn’t recommend their service anyway. Was really disappointed for what you pay. If you are hungry, pay for a real lunch, much better

The food was well presented and tasty and the staff were helpful and attentive. The menu choices though were very limited and there was not much choice, particulary on the main courses.

Arrived before time and not on the list /waited then I suggested ask the reception and this was found along with our dietary requests. Waited 35 mins after arrived and tea ,&coffee given but not offered to refresh as we waited over 40 mins.wasnt told the cakes we had. The scones were lovely and warm but one only each.4 small sandwiches. Disappointed ???? as it was a birthday treat.could of been a grt afternoon tea Staff not knowing what to do.lovely young staff after 3pm everywhere and lots of goodbyes. Very disappointed experience

Excellent food, the afternoon tea was great. Ambiance good although maybe a little clinical in feel of the restaurant. Service staff good, although rather slow with the bill at the end. Overall a very good experience.

For the price of a cream tea it was very disapointing, we will not be back. £45 for 2 people was extortionate for what we received.. not even a whole sandwich each, a scone and 3 cakes!!

The restaurant looked very nice and presentable. There were a few other guests dining including a party of about 12. We were given the set dinner menu with a small selection of starters (cold selection, they had no soup - passable). For the mains, Mrs P had the Turkey, I chose the Pork. There were no carb choice with this selection so I had to pay an extra £4 for spuds. Only to find they had none. I pointed out that the Turkey had potatoes included so could I have them? Nope was the response. I changed my choice to the Turkey. It was dreadful. Obviously pre-cooked and heated up. The veg were lifeless, 3 very small new potatoes, very little gravy, a great big wodge of soapy stuffing and the biggest horror of all, Brussel sprouts from the freezer (ugh). Two lumps of Turkey rather than carved slices. We had just paid £30 each for what I would compare to a very poor 1970's school dinner. However, the next morning, the breakfast was superb. Fresh, plentiful, all the usual favourites, buffet style so help your self. Good service. The view of the garden from the restaurant in the morning frost was glorious. However, will not be going back. Ever.

Booked this restaurant as we where staying at the hotel for the night. Wasn’t impressed with the menu selection at all and being pregnant made the selection more limited. Originally ordered the beef but was sooo fatty even my husband who eats anything couldn’t eat it so had to be sent back. Changed for a pasta. Pricey and disappointing. Need more selection on the menu. Desert was also very average.

Was nice to meet my friend but the staff were very inexperienced and the afternoon tea plate was just put in front of us with no explanation what was on it the sandwiches were very basic nice location though

It was ok, I found the service to be slow which was frustrating when there was half a dozen waiting staff standing around. Starters (fish cake and soup) were very good, we both had the pork belly for our main which, while tasty, was quite tough. For pudding we had the chocolate trio and the brioche bread and butter pudding, both of which were very good. A really nice touch was bringing out a plate with a chocolate Happy Anniversary message written on it. I found the restaurant quite noisy, there were a couple of large parties in the restaurant but that just the way it goes.
