What a unique environment, great service, and amazing epicurean experience at Sola! Dining downstairs in the cave-like cellar was really memorable, especially with the intimate horigotatsu seating (legs are seated in a recess under the table). They give you comfy slippers for the experience. The service was wonderful and everyone was very attentive, taking their time to explain everything in detail to use in English (we were visiting Paris). The servers had good recommendations for wine, and the menu that was prepared by the chef was really unique. The French and Japanese flavors mixed together wonderfully. Compared to Michelin-star restaurants we've been to, we really felt Sola was on par, if not exceeded, our expectations in all aspects.

Talk about a treasure in Paris. As a Japanese person I was shocked at the chefs subtle elegance in every bite. What a wonderful experience for our wedding anniversary.

Beautiful gourmet food. €98 per head for the set tasting menu. Of the 9 courses we had at the time 6 were phenomenal and the other 3 were good.

We also paid an extra €70 per head for the recommended drinks to accompany several of the dishes. For this we got 3 French wines and 2 Japanese sakes. As with each food course a waiter explained the drinks as he brought them over. The set drinks may not be worth it for everyone but we enjoyed the extra extravagance on a night when we pushed the boat out.

The service was formal and respectful but also friendly. Would definitely recommend.

It was the best meal we had in Paris. Every dish was perfect and prepared with perfection. They just need to fix the music and the old cellar.

We walked by the restaurant during the day and thought it was a neat place. We decided to give it a try for dinner, and the experience was amazing. We sat downstairs and atmosphere was really good, it was like a dungeon and we took off our shoes like in a traditional Japanese restaurant. The service was excellent, each table is serviced by a server and a sommelier (if you ordered wine or the wine pairings) whom were very friendly and attentive. We received welcome cards with menu of the day (which is a omakase style, the chef selects what you eat for that day). It was a nine course meal and we got the "gold" wine pairing, where each course accompanied its own wine/sake (yes! sake! and the sakes were premium sakes). The food was simply amazing, very creative and a perfect fusion between Japanese and French elements. The foie gras, fish and pigeon were all cooked to perfection, and every dish felt like a symphony in our mouths. My wife and I would like to go again if we were in Paris again.
