Very good
What an amazing meal! The service was fantastic and the food was amazing!
We have gone to this restaurant for a long time and it has always been our default place as it has always been lovely, however this Friday was disappointing. The service was ‘okay’ but the food was not as good as normal, steak overcooked, veg and potatoes were dry but the worst was the deserts, we ordered two to share between us and the chef must have dropped a pot of sugar into them they were so sweet they caught your breath (and we all do have a sweet tooth). We asked if there had been a change to the chef and the girl who served us said she did not know as she had not been here that long!! We mentioned about the food as we went along but at no time did anyone else come across to apologise or see if we wanted anything else, which we were surprised at. Anyway, such a shame but not a favourite anymore, we will try once more mainly because it normally is so good but if it is the same probably not again.
Food was absolutely amazing!
A very enjoyable experience.
Lovely food and wine.
Excellent food and service; the complimentary bread and dripping alone is worth going for! Nice selection of wine and fizz as well.
Fabulous food and excellent service. Lunch menu very good value
It was our first visit to Stockdales and we couldn't fault it. The food was excellent as well as the wine and the staff were friendly and efficient.
Came here for a birthday meal and had a fantastic time. We had the Wagyu Filet, and it was hands down the best steak we have ever had! Absolutely to die for! Totally worth paying a bit extra for. The chips were really nicely cooked, and all washed down with a lovely red wine and delicious ice cream. The restaurant has been transformed beautifully from when it was Sam's Chop House. The service was fantastic - everyone was really friendly and attentive. The only thing I would ask the management to look into is sharing the tips with the lovely young lady on the cloak room. We tipped her separately when we found out tips aren't shared with her, which seems slightly unfair.
Wonderful food and superb service. Highly recommend.
Excellent food and service. Highly recommend the Wagyu steak. Wonderful ambience and a lovely evening.
Extremely easy to book on their website. Having noted that one of our party was Gluten intolerant; a Gulten free menu was emailed immediately. Having previously dined here a month earlier I had high expectations in the cuisine and the service - we were not disappointed. A friendly welcome, adequate time to settle down and choose our food. Like before, the sauce in the Moules Mariennere was divine and we all tried it. The ambience in the restaurant is perfect and unlike some restaurants that constantly ask "How is everything?"; Stockdales have this finely tuned by asking only once. This says they are comfortable with the food they serve. Stockdales is now firmly placed within my top 5 restaurants in Leeds.
Excellant food, brilliant service. Very friendly staff.
I have always rated the Sunday lunch as the best in Leeds however this time it was a litte disappointing. The gravy & meat was not hot enough and you no longer have a veg/cheese option as a side for Sunday lunch. You used to have either a Cauliflower cheese or broccoli cheese. The wine / glass wear and service however still on top form. Many thanks
Great food, amazing service, lovely atmosphere. In all I really enjoyed my experience, I've been a handful of times and the service has always been consistently good quality
Excellent food and service.
Fantastic meal
The atmosphere when we entered (first time we had visited) was lovely and the staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. the interiour was well decorated and light. We were showed to our table and given a drinks menu. I chose a beer but was told that non of the beers on the menu were available as the brewery had changed. I was not impressed as the menu should not have been handed out. the beers that were on offer were not as good and so I settled for tap water for the duration. The chicken liver starter was excellent. The soup was nice and although tasty and warm could have done with being slightly hotter. The 2 rost beef dinners were excellent. The lamb had too much fat on it. I also felt that there was not enough vegetables and three small roast potatoes were again not enough. I also noted that the plates were cold before I had completed the meal. When the bill arrived we had to haveit ammended as we had been overcharged. So overall not a good experience and overpriced for what we had.
Nice steak. Peppercorn sauce was thin and watery. Joined by 2 flies for my meal.
A wonderful chice for a pre concert dinner. Abslutely amazing value with 2 courses at just £19, whihc we did not expect. Wonder attnetive service and very warm freidnly surroundings. Food cooked to perfection and a must if in Leeds and want something special.
