Pasta for the main, and not even house made pasta at that? Not a protein? Nothing a la carte just the overpriced set menu. Most things were ok and the dessert was lovely but seriously pasta? With a tiny tiny bit of veal. And very limited adjustments for people with allergies.
We really enjoyed our experience at Sybaris. The owner/chef waited on us and we enjoyed the information he shared about each dish. His English was excellent as well, which was a plus, as our French is minimal at best. There was only a fixed menu available, which was fine by us. We also opted for a wine pairing and greatly enjoyed the wines as well. The sous vide peach for dessert was a particular standout. If we ever get back to Paris, we will definitely come here again.
Fantastic little Paris restaurant, great owner/chef we had matched wines and delicious tasting menu, I would highly recommend.
The restaurant now has only one person in attendance, doing cooking, serving, etc. The food was not very good; flavors not well blended. Very much an amateur production. Chef/owner says he’s selling and moving to NYC.
A brilliant little place. One chef (who is also waiter, ractonteur, dishwasher etc), serving a tasting menu of six dishes. It’s clever, quirky and funny. I loved it.
An enthusiastic chef with a sincere love for food make this restaurant a real gem. Every dish was amazing, delicious and very well presented. The minimalist, scruffy appeal of the place (that I loved) does not make one think of the perfection that is going to be served. Thanks to the chef for such a great experience.
This was a very quirky but enjoyable restaurant. It had the feel of a "pop up" restaurant (perhaps it was?). We were there on a Friday evening at 7:30. We were the only ones there until probably around 9:15ish. Odd right for a Friday night in Paris? In any event, the staff (one waitress, one chef) were very pleasant and helpful. Only the tasting menu was available that night (which I believe deterred the few walk-ins that evening) and it was really good--some dishes better than others, but very good on average. The price too was affordable, which was nice. I'd go back again as I enjoyed the meal and overall experience.
Feels like a pop-up restaurant. Only 16 covers - so communal tables and everyone has the same 6 course menu at 8pm. Few wines available at reasonable prices. Really interesting food combinations and a very genial and enthusiastic owner, highly recommended.
Great little place. Nice food for a fair price. Only set menu. A kids option would be nice.
What a find. If you like superbly prepared but unfussy, interesting, delicious food cooked by a real enthusiast (Alain Ducasse-trained, apparently) in unpretentious surroundings, then this is the place for you!
I really loved the experience and the people. The chef created a 6 course meal that was brilliant and reasonably priced. Make a reservation as the place is small. They speak English and are super welcoming. I love these guys
What an amazing find! The entire experience was nothing short of divine. Food exquisite; wine pairings perfect; atmosphere chill and intimate: chef/owner a delight. Run, don’t walk, to this gem.
Very good food but the vegetarian option felt like "you just took the meat away" instead of making an effort, since we payed the same price for the vegetarian one as the meat one you could have expected more. But, very cozy, very good food and definitely recommended!
Food was delicious, service was very friendly, it was a bit cold though...
Our meal at Sybaris was everything we hoped for: inventive, delicious food in an informal, relaxed setting. All eight adults were seriously impressed - - including a critical foodie from Bordeaux. Our experience was enhanced by the detailed explanation of all courses (in English!) by the friendly host/chef. Extraordinary value. Exceptional food and good wine at a surprisingly reasonable price for the quality.
This is gastronomic gem at the heart of Paris! Food is art!
Great people, great food, and wonderful new friends!
