the food was absolutely superb, a discovery of tastes and colours for every plate and in betweens.. We chose the menu with 4 most-famous courses and accompanying wines. The food itself cannot be described briefly – you have to experience this yourself ! The first 2 glasses of wine (both white; Anjou/Loire, and ...) were modest enough as a support for the fish-based courses, but lacked the character for a full accompaniment. The subsequent south-african red wine was a bit young but great ! Our table during dinner, just beside the kitchen, was on the one hand interesting as it gave a glimpse of how a high-quality kitchen is run, but on the other hand it was a bit noisy. It was very pleasant to start on the outside sun-lit terrace with aperitif accompanied with tasty ‘snacks’ and small multi-flavoured ‘appetizers’.. before moving inside for the great dinner.

The food was very tasteful and innovative. The veal tartar almost looked liked a van Gogh painting.
It was also excellent value for money.

We planned on a quick dinner nearby but it was full so we drove and drove until we found 't Nonnetje. It was a blessing in disguise.

Eating there was extremely enjoyable. The food was delicious. Every course was a surprise- not only did it taste amazing, it was also beautiful to look at. We did not have a single bad dish. Many Michelin restaurants like to pile on the amuses as if that makes it more impressive but a lot of times, the amuses are 'nice' but not 'great'. This restaurant however gives you 2 proper amuses; a wonderfully prepared oyster and a gazpacho soup (looks a lot better than 'just a soup', trust me); both of which made me very happy. The 3 courses we ordered were also nothing but yum. I was delighted with all of them.

The service was also good. Nice, young waiter who kindly tried to explain the dishes to me in English. Oh and something I always appreciate- the timing between courses was excellent. We eat out 3 or so times a week so it is not a social occasion for us. We just want to eat and go. 't Nonnetje was great in not making this a draggy dinner.

Prices were also normal, perhaps even cheap for a starred restaurant. Will certainly be going back when we visit friends in the area.
Thank you very mutch for this big compliment for my team and restaurant, with many regards Robert-jan Nijland
