This is a difficult restaurant to review. It is ensconced in what appears to be a lovely boutique hotel. However, the food is too complicated. We enjoyed some tasty entrées, but the rest of the food was trying too hard to be Innovative. The chef is obviously talented. I don’t know if this works for the business model of the restaurant, but it would seem better to use the extensive talents of the chef to cook, solid food well-made with a moderate amount of innovation. What is the crime in serving whole vegetables? Most well-heeled people appreciate healthy food. Spain has a fantastic food tradition. It seems to me that one could just make simple dishes of a very high-quality. There may be some people who like highly complicated highly processed, highly sauced food. We did not.

The restaurant is in the Santa Luisa Hotel and is very cozy. Steak Tartare is prepared table side. Wait staff are very attentive.

The starters were perfect, the wines were good, the main courses were ok, the service was not the level you would expect. My plate was taken away while I was still having my last bite. I asked for wine, no one asked my wife if she would like to have wine as well.

We enjoyed a relaxed and delicious supper at this cosy, friendly restaurant. Dishes were innovative, beautifully designed and presented. Each mouthful was a delight. The decor was sumptuous; reminded me of Raffles hotel in Singapore. Service was attentive but discrete. A venue and meal to remember.
