I’ve been here quite a few times and I do get the feeling it gets better with each time. Had a fantastic meal. The shrimp we had were perfectly cooked and definitely caught that morning as the taste of fresh shrimp is like no other. I also recommend the alheira balls and peixinhos da horta

Nice, cosy spot in Setubal, the staff were really welcoming and super helpful. The food was amazing, for starters we chose the Portobello mushrooms stuffed with goat cheese, they were really appetizing, and for the main, we ordered the Gerês veal cheeks and the black pork neck, with rice, salad and crisps on the side. We really recommend the veal cheeks, it comes with a few fresh cut chillies, that really spice up the plate. All in all, 10/10.

Top. Very pleasant surprise. Service was very friendly, quick to respond and highly efficient. The food was super-delicious. The location, near the dock, is also very pleasant. Definitely worth more than one single visit. Congratulations!

Great find. Full of local people. Simple but tasty food. Only problem was there was no English translation, but that’s MY problem. I should learn more Portuguese. Definitely a good find with easy parking.

I booked a table for 13 people for Sunday lunch to celebrate my birthday. I had previously visited Taberna Grande and loved their decor and the fact that they had a wide range of food for all my guests. However, the experience was disappointing. Some of the dishes on the menu were not available. Others had limited availability, leaving my guests to agree with each other who got to have what they picked and who had to make a second choice. They also didn't have soft drinks apart from ice tea and only 3 types of dessert were available. We were informed they had had "a big night" the night before but that's no excuse when they took in several large bookings for Sunday lunch and we were one of the first ones to arrive. Despite this, I can't fault the staff who were impeccable. The quality of the food was average with some of the meat eaters complaining the meat was tough and others saying it was perfect. The portions were also well-served. Overall, I wouldn't book a party here again.

Tavern style restaurant with a great decor. The menu was promising but the food quality didn’t live up to it. The staff was welcoming and friendly and gave us suggestions. Service was fast for a Saturday evening but we were lucky enough to get there before the big groups of diners. We had the tuna tartar and the octopus carpaccio and the codfish tempura. The portions were reasonably sized but the tuna tartar lacked in taste and the octopus carpaccio was a little chewy and tasteless. The tempura was nice. Dessert was chocolate parfait with peanut butter ice cream and salted caramel sauce and the parfait could have been a little more chocolatey. Overall, we enjoyed it but thought the food quality was a let down.
