We came to Tamarind to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was amazing, Service & surrounds were wonderful and staff were lovely, friendly and very attentive. Our waiter, Smith, was exceptional. Very easy going, friendly and lovely to chat to. He also recommended meals very well and was extremely professional in his service. Thankyou. we shall return.

We both had Scollops for entree. Sauce was delicious. Scollops a bit ‘stringy’. Whole Baby Barramundi main was delish! Sweets were underwhelming (watermelon layer cake which was more of a shortbread w a jelly layer) & mango marquise pretty average- when it says mango I expected more than a few minute cubes. Overall good though. We’d go again

Have been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years even when it was called Antheos. Totally new staff and so different to even 2 years ago. Several times I had to get up & pour my own bottle of sparkling wine. My friend asked if he could have another drink as it was only 9.55 pm & was told “no we are closed in 5 minutes “. There was still a big table in the middle of restaurant still dining I have never known this restaurant to do this. I’ve been there some nights until 11.30pm. Very disappointing. It was also a Sat night !!

It started with a genuinely warm welcome, followed by the best tasting, well presented food in Cairns. The staff had the best attitude I have ever come across. I would highly recommend the Tamarind for a special experience.

Atmosphere is intimate and relaxed. Menu is set, so your options are limited. Sadly none of the deserts options interested me. Will go back when they change the set menu and offer new options.

The staff were amazing but the standard of the meal was a little disappointing (duo of beef). If you are going to offer roast potatoes on the menu, make sure they are crunchy and aren't soggy. Also don't overcook the other vegetables on the plate

This was the first time I went to the Tamarind Restaurant and enjoyed the experience of a beautiful setting and great food. The service was excellent, very friendlly, experienced and welcoming. If you want a special night the Tamarind Restaurant is a great place to go.

comfortable seats, attentive staff, great food. I had the barramundi, hubby the steak, both tasty. I asked the waiter how to eat it and he was happy to explain. Cocktails OK, food better

Tamarind is our go to restaurant for special occasions. The food flavors are mostly oriental in origin with some small twists to tempt the taste buds. Service is excellent and the wine list is extensive. The venue is relaxing and overall a wonderful experience awaits the patron.

The food was lovely, the duck curry was delicious however the portion sizes were to big, our whole table couldn't finish their meals. the lady serving us also needs to lighten up a little and actually smile, not look like she was being forced to be there.

The Tamarind restaurant is a must and a real find in Cairns. Excellent food and excellent service. I like how they've arranged the menu for minimally entree and main or main and dessert. Or all three courses. Lots to choose from with an excellent choice of wines. Loved it. We'll definitely be back, particularly as we are Accor Plus members.

Service was excellent. However on ordering the zucchini flower entree it consisted of strips of zucchini not what was advertised. Also the salmon was not quite there with flavour.

We have been here many times and it is always amazing. The service is as good as the food and is easily our favourite restaurant in town. They have a new set menu with their signature dishes which is amazing, the only downside to this is there is no steak to choose from. The eye fillet from their old menu was my wife's favourite. I always try to not have the duck curry as it is hard to pass and went for the Barra this time. Wow, the sauce and presentation was spot on.

the food was tasty I didn't like the menu it was a set menu at one price, the presentation was too formal and no veg or salad even as optional extra. I won't go again unless there is a better menu.

Very interesting menu provides Thai twisted Asian fusion on plates. Beauutiful food presentation & full flavourful taste . Service was excellent, Maggie was very attentive & provided us great dining experience. Highly recommended.

Such a shame on where we were seated, absolutely ruined what could have been a lovely evening, obviously the main restaurant was full, so we were placed in a side room with booths only two other people seated, who did ask to be moved, but the setting is all wrong, a live band came on in the casino bar, which wasn’t to our liking, so instead of hearing chatting patrons from other tables, we heard muffled singing, next time on booking Tamarind I will ask were we are going to be seated.

Absolutely amazing, could not fault a thing and the duck curry was probably the greatest thing I’ve eaten in my life. The service was fantastic especially the extra attention as we were celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary

A favourite of locals for special occasions because it never disappoints. But just as great for an impuslive dinner if you are lucky enough to get in. The food is always fresh, tasty, but delivered with what is expected of a restaurant: surprising taste revelations or just gorgeous to devour visually.
