About the restaurant Tapas do Monte

My wife and I were the first to arrive,7 o’clock Monday 11 of November and were greeted by 2 friendly faces and immediately felt relaxed,we ordered various tapas, all of which were extremely tasty and served with great timing, even the “French fries “,which came with the sirloin were stunning,we have been to Portugal 10 times or more, and my wife said it was the best meal she has had,we left 8:30 ish by which time it was now full,to summarise, very casual and very tasty

The proprietor was friendly in a natural way with helpful advice when needed. There are a limited number of tables but that only adds to the close and friendly atmosphere. Tapas dishes are ample with a quality flavor to match. Our favorite place in Monte Estoril.

Excellent food, welcoming service and a warm and cozy environment. This little restaurant was quite a find after many mediocre meals on our vacation in Portugal.

Small and friendly restaurant off the beaten track. (5mins from Monte Estoril station) Max 20/24 covers per night. Food is delicious with a nice relaxed feel about the place. 5 Tapas, house wine, 2 sweets and port came in around 80 euros. Owner was helpful and friendly and would definitely recommend a visit.

We were given advice about how many dishes to order and shown the portion size. Everything we ordered was well presented and delicious. I would not hesitate to recommend Tapas do Monte to anyone who is looking for authentic Portuguese food presented as smaller (sharing) dishes. The hosted was welcoming and spoke perfect English which made life very easy for us.

Excellent! I love it when menus are not 20 pages long. It means the chef can focus on a few great dishes, and great they were! The assorted pinchos, the tapas (try the cod, and the goat cheese, and the beef!) and main dishes (pasta nero, lamb, porc) as well as the desserts (lemon meringue!) were all delicious. So was the wine (also a select choice: three qualities, we had the middle one which was very good). And all this served with a smile. Do make a reservation via the Fork as the place is tiny, several people came in vain while we were there. Warmly recommended!!!

Would highly recommend this place. Great food, great service and great atmosphere. Booking recommended, there were as many people turned away as seated the night of our visit.
