Enjoyed our evening. Beautiful location and food - the kitchen knows their ingredients! Wait staff were friendly and welcoming on arrival- My husband and I were each given a glass of Prosecco on arrival as our table wasn’t ready. We thought it was complimentary and a nice touch, but when we received the bill we had been charged for the cost.

This charming restaurant is a short walk up from the hustle and bustle of the port and surrounding area. The food was excellent, the service friendly and accommodating. For the quality and location I think the prices are reasonable. I highly recommend this dining establishment!

Wonderful food, service & location
Restaurant
Dear Guests,
Thank you for your kind words, we are really happy to read your convincing review and proud to have been selected trough several food and beverage activities in the Amalfi town. We are settled into a middle of the oldest part of the centre immerged into a beautiful scenery of a small square. It boost us in order to create novelties involving traditional recipes from the origins of the campanian cuisine by the contribute of Ippolito Cavalcanti who has been in charge of care of food at the courtyard of Borboni a couple of centuries ago. Some of the recipes is the linguine pasta with anchiovies colature (a sort of ancient "garum") and nuts from Giffoni. It call an excellent glass of wine which is a lovely Sauvignon Blanc "Urrà di mare" by Mandrarossa house wine from Sicily. Straw yellow with brilliant golden reflections,
an intense citrus and fruit aromas such as peach, apricot and grapefruit, balanced with hints of mint and basil; an excellent balance between fruit aromas and pleasant minerality.

Lovely atmosphere and authentic food with attentive service
Restaurant
Dear guest,
Thank you for reserving with thefork platform as well as releasing a wonderful review. We are a little restaurant into a middle of the two most antique churches of Amalfi, so it' s a best location to try inspiration and cook according to the history of the recent Reign of two Sicilies. We have several ideas respecting always the season cycle such the sliced sea bass flavoured with lemon from Amalfi and warty venus with courgettes. That's the occasion to try some tipical wines from the area such the Vigna Lapillo, Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio by Sorrentino. It's a wine from Vesuvius vulcanic area which is a blend between Caprettone and Falaghina grape. It has a dark yellow clour with intense, kind and complex scent. It offers fruity aromas with a prevalence of almond, white peach, pear and mineral hints. The taste is full-bodied, pleasant and elegant, dry and persistent. Hoping to make you experience another glass with us, cheers!

Amazing lunch of fresh alici, langoustine and pastas while enjoying the quietness of the restaurant’s small piazza!
Restaurant
Dear Mr Chris E,
Thank you for letting us an opportunity to show our potential of our cuisine and offering a relaxing ambience exactly in the middle of two of the most ancient churches of Amalfi. Our history is helping us in order to arrange novelties according to the season, such the fusilli with prawns, asparagus and cherry tomatoes from Piennolo. This is always an occasion to try a good glass of wine as our Brunello di Montalcino, sold by the glass too. Garnet red with light ruby reflections. The nose reveals fascinating notes of cherry and small red berry fruits, candied citrus fruits and tobacco, leather, spices. On the palate it is fresh, extraordinarily balanced between a decisive acid shoulder and a pleasant tannic texture, with a slightly sapid and persistent finish. Cheers!

Virtually no service at all. We were ignored and the restaurant was empty!
Very limited menu. Ordered off an Easter menu, pappardelle with lamb ragout. Tasteless.
Wine that was recommended was terrible, but we never saw the waiter to return it.
My first, and hopefully last, bad meal in Italy.
Restaurant
Dear Mrs Ellen O,
Thank you for spending your precious time to reviewing us and to had reserved a table with us. We are really disappointed with this critics, since you are pointing that you were ignored and restaurant was empty. It's actually quite not understandable for us since it was Easter day with plenty of people trying our traditional menù, which has been widely appreciated. We can obviously imagine that it could not been matching your palate, but regarding the tasteless it seems very inappropriate as notoriously the lamb has very specific taste. Maybe the reccomendation of the wine could not be the best option, everybody can make some mistake in his life, but as per standard we are letting to try the wine before making the glass full, so why didn't you ask to replace it with something else, since we have a wide wine selection by bottle and even by the glass? We are always open to perform the best option to our customers, it is quite sad to communicate only by the keyboard.

We can absolutely recommend this restaurant! The waiters are very friedly a one a true entertainer. Food was excellent and because we were so excited we go there again this week.
I would recommend to eat the beef with bacon and the white wine from Ravello.
Restaurant
Dear Mrs Marianna B,
Thank you really much for your precious time in reviewing us. It was a great time the first evening with us and we are happy to make the dining experience something that is trascending the mere food one, as there is some magic in the air when you are sorrounded by much history and culture. Our roots are coming from the aristocratic cuisine of Ippolito Cavalcanti who was one of the chefs at the kingdom of Reign of two Sicilies. This is where beef fillet bites wrapped in local cured bacon is perfectly matched with, why not, red wine from Sicily with French twist which is Mille e una notte by Donnafugata a blend of Nero d'Avola, Petit Verdot and Syrah. An intense ruby red colored, Mille e una Notte 2015 is characterized by an ample bouquet, with fruity notes (blackberry and black mulberry) and balsamic (liquorice) and spicy scents followed by hints of cacao. The palate is soft and embracing, surprising with an extraordinary silky tannin. A remarkable long persistence on the finish.

Food was great, thought the menu would be different but the food was very good. There was unexpected dancing, free lemoncello, free champagne and free dessert. There was a bachelorette party going on at a large table next to us and we all got up and danced together to American songs as well as Italian. Not sure every experience here is like this, but we spent over 3 hours here and it was very enjoyable and I thank everyone at the restaurant for making it so.
Restaurant
Dear Mrs Rita C,
That's an outstanding review as well as the evening we had at Taverna Buonvicino, magic in the air! First of all it's always a pleasure to receive bookings trough this web site and to see happy clients at the end of the meal, that's our goal. We are aiming to recreate some recipes from the ancient aristocratic cuisine born in the reign of two Sicilies a couple of centuries ago. This is why our offer is different than other but still a tasty one focusing on modern presentation: there is a room for simple soups like a pumkin one with boletus mushrooms and fried spelt. That's an occasion to have a glass of excellent red wine ruby red, dark and intense such is the Taurasi DOCG Vigna Cinque Querce. It has an intense and complex nose, with spicy hints of pepper and nutmeg and elegant balsamic nuances, which blend with sensations of ripe plum and licorice and coffee. The taste is warm, thick, opulent, but also extremely fresh and sapid, with a tannic weft plot.Perfect combination to a music party!

Although the service was excellent (very attentive and polite staff), we would have preferred a more casual atmosphere without such a high level of formality. We feel more comfortable when high level of service is delivered in a more relaxed and personal manner. We would definitely recommend this restaurant in any case. It is beautiful and the food is amazing!
