It seems quite a touristic place at the beginning, but it's frequented by a lot of local people. Super fast service, good quality meat, not very interesting recipes. Wonderful live music.

Boa comida de tacho, nomeadamente o que veio para a mesa (Bucho de Arganil, Risotto de Alheira e Bacalhau Lascado). Serviço despachado, profissional e simpático. Presença constante do dono, uma mais valia. Recomendo e tenciono voltar.

It was one disaster after another. We were shown to our table and we ordered a drink. We were then ignored by the staff as people arrived for a private party in another room. We finally ordered and the starter arrived quite quickly. The main course arrived before we had finished eating and the starter plate was whisked away without asking if we had finished. One of the main courses was not the one we had ordered and so this was taken away. The second attempt turned up a while later. We then attracted the waitress’s attention as we wanted some olive oil. She waved at us and carried on looking at the computer with her colleague. Finally we asked another waiter who brought balsamic vinegar instead. We asked for the bill. They had charged us for a very expensive starter which we had not ordered. The waiter admitted his mistake and reissued the bill. Just as he was about to take payment, the waitress jumped in and took the card machine out of his hand, as she said she needed it for another table, laughing as she did. Even the waiter looked surprised. The food was actually okay but the staff ruined the evening. There was no customer service at all. It was as if they didn’t want us there.

A taverna dos Trovadores é sempre um local a repetir quando visitamos Sintra. A comida é muito boa e o espaço muito agradável. Desta vez a espera foi um pouco maior, mas compreendemos porque o espaço estava a abarrotar. O Polvo à Taverna nunca desilude, no entanto, esperava mais do Bacalhau Espiritual. Ainda assim, aconselho muito . =)
