The Bishop is located in a historical building, the pillars and wood beams being clues to its ripe old age. But the trendy interior and friendly ...

Really nice experience, beautiful and delicious food with lovely wine, nice atmosphere, nice, friendly, forward staff (in a good way).
Beautiful location in the historic center of Leiden. Cozy interior with a second floor that offers a view on the craftsmanship in the kitchen downstairs. Very tasty food combining some unique tastes. Highly likely to revisit The Bishop later this year. Wonderful evening and friendly staff.
This was a lovely restaurant with amazing food. We had the chefs menu which was so delicious. The decor adds to the experience. Fantastic wines and very friendly staff. Will definitely recommend and look forward to going back.
Good wine pairing, good food, but two of the courses was just average. Very nice restaurant though, and I do want to come back:)
Amazing location: the inside of the building is very characteristic and makes a lovely ambience Great food: as an Italian my food standards are rather high and it is not easy to please me. The Bishop greatly managed the task! Wonderful service: as soon as we entered the restaurant we immediately felt very welcomed by the owner of the place. During dinner, our waitress made us feel at home, very kind and attentive with an impressive knowledge about wines, liquors and food. Definitely recommended!
An unexpected find! Food was superb, the wine selection was amazing, and the waiter was very helpful with recommendations and translationing for us.
Good food, but a bit expensive for what you get.
Was the second time I went to this restaurant with my family and it did not disappoint! Great food and excellent wine choices. We definitely would come again, great place and nice atmosphere with friendly staff.
took too long for a four course meal. Almost fell asleep. I have been to many Michelin stars, should not have taken this long.
It was simply perfecti.e. very customer orientated. The food was very good, service as well. Realtion price / quality also very reasonable. The only thing what was not so nice was that our table (2 persons) was adjacent to the front windows in the 1st floor and cold air dropped from the one-pane-windows as it was quite cold outsidei
Excellent restaurant with assortment of very good wines. International cuisine, mix of classical European dishes with a touch of Asian cooking. Nice and helpful personal. Go there and get excellent “The Bishop” experience.
Good food, great atmosphere, attentive waiters - just what we were looking for when going out for datenight ???? We choose the chefs menu (one without seafood, which was no problem).
Quality was very good, service also; however, after a four-course menu, we still were a bit hungry.
The Bishop is a very nice restaurant in a historic building. The food is great, with also a very good vegetarian offering and good wines by the bottle and by the glass.
Service and atmosphere were outstanding. Food was average.
Excellent restaurant. We had a reservation but ended up with a bit of a wait because the party before us were not leaving their table. The host was wonderful, entertaining us at the bar.
The good: -The location and the inside of the restaurant are beautiful - the staff were all very friendly - the dessert (fondant) was so, so tasty - wine was okay The not-so-good: - incredibly noisy - food was distinctly average (dessert aside), only fish was quite good. The 'chefs choice' on the day were mussels, and they were disappointing. - probably worth taking (at least) 3 course meals: the mains on their own portion-wise are very small Conclusion: overpriced
Perfect service, good food, good wine and fair prices. The atmosphere is very cozy. Great staff!
Really nice food and the service was very good. We had children, whilst there is no children's menu they were very accommodating. Definitely will return.

Craftmanship is to dare
At The Bishop every single dish is a winner. Craftmanship, passion and dare come together without losing the eye for detail. Not only in the dishes; in the lamps on the wall are hidden Maria statues. This goes perfectly with the atmosphere of the historical building. Next to divine food, the enormous wine menu will please every lover.
