I came to redeem my Yum points but The Bold at Southport didn’t know anything about them. even though I showed the staff proof. The food and service was good apart from the chef at the serving hatch questioning how many roast potatoes I wanted which was the second time he has done this, he was unprofessional and said that other people only normally have two, I said was there a problem. I was disappointed when I couldn’t redeem the Yum points due to it being my birthday meal and all staff having no knowledge about Yums.

We had the carvery and the food was good. The ridiculously long wait just to get a ticket so we could get our food was not so good. The attitude of the person serving the food could have been better. After he cut half a slice of beef I asked for another piece to be told, "sure if you want to upgrade to a large meal", not good and not what we'd been advised when asking about the differences in the meal sizes. Our server Leanne was a little star though.

All ok, until I went for the pudding, ordered Eton Mess, which was a mess, just a glass of cream with a couple of strawberries, no Meringue no summer fruits as described, basically I thought the who meal was over priced with what u got

I made a mistake and thought that my meal came with chunky chips and questioned it when fried came. It was no problem, the waitress replaced the fries for me. Our trip was for my friends birthday who had never been before. We were both impressed with the service especially as it was my mistake.

Went for daughters birthday ..husbands soup didn't come they brought his main had to ask for another drink ..my pasta was delicious. Hot out to the lovely waitress who brought a slice of cake with Happy birthday on the plate off her own back that was a lovely touch . Overall it was very busy could do with more staff but no complaints about what we ate will come again maybe in the week when not as busy though .

The bold is a lovely venue both in the winter and the summer I eat there a lot and I have never had a bad meal. The carvery is excellent and available every day. Perfect

Really enjoyed our lunch at the Bold. Staff were attentive & approachable & the surroundings lovely & very inviting. Had the carvery which was good value for money with fresh vegetables & lovely Yorkshire puddings. The only slight disappointment was the beef which was maybe a bit too rare leaving it quite stringy - both myself & my uncle left some as not able to eat it. Would definitely recommend & go again but give the beef a miss if not cooked a little more.

The best thing about the turkey carvary was the turkey and the red cabbage peas OK, sprouts could have used as door stoppers carrots hard too. Potatoes ate much better. Not a happy customer

Absolutely lovely , staff are fantastic can’t do enough for you !! We visited with 2 small dogs and a large electric wheelchair- we were seated at a lovely large table, drinks brought over to us and an amazing Sunday roast ❤️ can’t fault the place x

Absolutely loved this place, Me and my partner spent one night here last Saturday as a random get away from Manchester and a change of scenery yet that wasn’t too far away, I loved how Quirky the decor was in the pub yet luxurious in the deign of the rooms, we stayed in room 23 and it was gorgeous, clean and immaculate, will definitely stay here again .

I have been to the Bold on many occasions and each time is excellent.Thw staff are lovely and very attentive although not too much .I recomend anyone to visit the Bold and they wont be disappointed.

nd very fatty on the carvery worst one we have had they're very disappointing, waitress services were also very slow i asked for the bill twice and still never got it i had to walk to the bar and ask for it there

Great food as usual but service has gone downhill this week.Had the car very and tried to order a sweet, eventually got the sweet menu but no chance to get one ordered by a waitress.Gave up,tried to get the bill,again very difficult,had to pay on the way out.Toilet,s no paper in the ladies and gentlemen,s urine over the cubicle floor.

Lovely Sunday dinner again. One of our favourite places to eat on a Sunday in Southport. Felt a little sorry for the chap on his own behind the serving counter with a long queue. Not his fault though….
