Taken to our table , no menus or anything given . Waited 15mins before finally going and asking for one . Only to be given one A4 piece of paper for a table of 7. When asked for more , the young man said to my father , Yeah, only one per table , cheers mate . It’s an A4 piece of paper for goodness sake, you think another couple could be spared rather than 1 for 7 people to look at . The fact that we had to line up and order our food and drinks at the same spot was ridiculous. Extra time waiting while people were waiting for drinks . This should be done at a separate register, or drinks can be ordered there also; but staff can bring them to the table instead of people waiting so long . The line was ridiculously long. The food took ages to come , the share plate was tiny for the price , and we were told an hour after serving our food that two of the meals were taken to another table . We couldn’t wait for more as we needed to be somewhere else and couldn’t wait an extra 20mins. The food was terrible also. Real shame as it was my dads birthday that we were celebrating. Will definitely not go back there again.

Best ever value seniors meals and very pleasant staff. I do t know how they do it for the price. The standard is consistent each time we go there and the food great value for the price. Good traditional pub meals.

Given that there were only two staff around, the service, albeit very slow, was very good and the gals were friendly and apologetic for delays. Unfortunately all coffees we’re lukewarm.

Best value. Seniors menu and seniors discount excellent. Could not prepare the same meals at home for the price we paid. Service is fast and friendly. Wine list is good and reasonable priced.

Ordered the pasta dish,it presented well at first but after the first mouthfull all i could taste was oil.it was disgusting! As time passed the oil was pooled in the bottom of the bowl,it was unedible. I told and showed the waitress my dish when she arrived to clear our plates,her response was"eww,oh yeah",she removed all our plates,no apology on behalf of the chef,she came across quite rude. i didn't want a replacement dish but i wouldve appreciated an apology at least. very disappointed with the whole experience.

I really dont like being forced to use the QR code ordering system. Its enough to ensure I dont come back. Been to other ALH venues and they offer both. Food was OK but they didnt offer the drinks specials in the Bistro either. They were only available in the sports bar.

Food is usually very good and we have been here many times . Sadly the salt and pepper calamari was too salty and too much pepper that it could not be eaten. We were compensated with a free tea and coffee, but does not make up for leaving hungry . We were offered a free dessert but being a diabetic declined. The food is usually excellent so hoping this is a one off. ( have ordered the calamari many times here , this is the first time it was inedible)

We are very disappointed to find we had to order drinks and food by the QR Scan code. This process was ok during Covid but now it just shows a lack of service. It is also very difficult for the elderly. How is my Mum who is 89 supposed to do it? We will not be attending the Hotel again until you change it back to the warm friendly place it used to be.

The staff that were there did a good job but not enough of them, waiting for drinks, all trying to serve meals as well. food was very ordinary, served cold and salmon was so overcooked it was amazing that any chef would allow it to leave the kitchen. Will not go back.

Great friendly service, wonderful tasting food at good prices . Can be noisy , but worth it . We sat in a quieter area and enjoyed good sized , yummy food.

This is a return visit to the Commercial Hotel and again the food was delicious. The hardest part is wanting to try a different dish because it sounds beautiful but not wanting to not have the dish I had last time because it was fantastic.

Great value for the money. Four of us went out for dinner - I had the seniors meal at $9.95 and found it about the same size as other restaurants main course size. All of the food came out in a very timely manner, the staff were quite friendly and we had a good nite out.
