We have been here a few times, quality is excellent. The staff were atentive. My only gripe is the sunday roast portions. 1 slice of beef, 4 small potatoes, half a parsnip and 1 yorkie for £21.50. The portions usally good sized, and to be honest if there was stome fresh veg it would have really brightened the plate up.

Arrived to find car park fairly empty but several cars arrived just after which was a good sign! Restaurant fairly empty too which was odd as we hadn’t been able to amend our booking so just assumed it was full? Seen soon after arrival and seated. Not the best table as by the toilets and the service entrance/exit but ok. Took a while for waitress to arrive so when she did we ordered drinks and mains. Drinks took a while to arrive which was painful as could see them on the counter! Food didn’t take too long and it was lovely. I had seabass and my partner has the pie. Pie wasn’t full which was a shame but tasty all the same. We decided to have dessert which was cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding. Cheesecake was a bit stingey in size but lovely. We both downloaded a free pudding voucher. Thought my drink was expensive - £3:05 for a Diet Coke when two glasses of wine were £7:10? Waitress was lovely. She engaged with us and we had some banter which is rare these days. All in all a lovely meal

Received a very warm and friendly welcome from the Manager The level of service was excellent they were very attentive and nothing was to much trouble for them We will definitely be returning and will recommend the venue to others

The food was very good but We were very disappointed , as they had run out of beer, especially as all 4 of us were going to order . I'm afraid a pub with no beer is a very sad affair. We were not impressed. D. Ord

We have been to The Crown several times and always enjoyed everything about it, my 2 friends and I visited last night but unfortunately there were a few hiccups. The service was ok although we waited a while for someone to take our order, then when our food arrived 2 of the 3 meals were cold so had to be returned. This left one person eating alone who had finished by the time our meals came back. I can’t fault the food on its return and it won’t put me off coming back, hopefully it was just a one off! The staff were helpful and friendly as always.

Really nice surroundings, plenty of parking and easily accessible from the A12 (from both directions) - the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely go back again.

On arrival at the table the waiter advised us that only 2 starters from the menu were available and that a number of mains were not available and also that the only dessert was Banoffi Pie. This meant instead of enjoying a leisurely 3 course meal we only had a main course. Arriving at 7pm we ordered the food at about 7.10pm before anything else ran out. The food arrived quickly and our meal had ended by 7.40pm. So instead of a long evening it was cut rather short. I have ate at the Crown many times before but this was a most disappointing visit and I will be very reluctant to return after this experience. At least this was only a family outing rather than with friends who could have been making their first visit and getting a very poor first impression of your restaurant.

Always very happy with service at crown, service and staff very rude, especially barstaff. Waitress asked were we ready to order, replayed not yet, waitress came back and said most dishes were not available which left a very limited selection. When ready to order, asked if salmon was available, waitress did you not here what I read off to you, very condescending and lacking customer service. Will not be returning, and will pass on the bad service received from manager and staff. To family and work colleagues. Shame new management has taken over. Crown has now dropped down to a very low standard.

Nicely spaced out restaurant. Attentive staff the main meal was nice but the edible plant pot dessert was amazing!
