I have dined at this restaurant on a number of occasions and have always found it good. Granddaughter , Celeriac Stk ; Boy Friend Sun Fig Both super ; Wife & I both roast beef, excellent but my wife found it too much. Suggestion - include “smaller portions in your menu.

Went for the Sunday roast. I thought the roast potatoes were boiled. They were the potatoes that are served on a school dinner and were lacking colour. Could have done with another 40 mins in the oven. Veg was not hot. Parsnips again could have been roasted longer. Considering the good reviews this place has, People are easily pleased. I now know why the roast potatoes are not shown on any pictures

Really disappointing meal with family and friends on Saturday. The steak was over cooked and the quality of food was poor. The meal was extremely over priced for 9 people- 4 adults and 5 children. We eat out a lot in Heswall and have never paid so much for a meal and 2 drinks each. Had the quality of food reflected the price then it would not be an issue. Such a shame but we will definitely not be returning.

The food was great. The restaurant seemed very clean however we were sat by the door and the reception/ greeting area was full of cardboard boxes, personal handbags, phone charges and fizzy drinks. If this was changed it would be much more welcoming. The food was tasty, the service excellent and the overall experience was good. A few minor tweaks (especially in view of customers) would go a long way,

The waitress was very attentive & friendly. We had a really nice evening. But no Chucky fries with meal but wasn’t told before meal came to table had to ask got told they had run out just got skinny one☹️

Loved the food and the service was great, only thing I would say is the table we were sat at was very, very close to the next table and when a couple were brought to it they actually asked to be placed somewhere else. In todays climate it should be removed or moved further away.

What a great place to eat we were met at the entrance with a very warm welcome then guided to our table by a very engaging member of staff for whom nothing was to much trouble. The food was really good and came in timely courses so we could enjoy our conversation, no rush to get us out just a most pleasant experience.

We had the belly pork which was disgusting. Thin slices of unrendered fat. We were going to complain but no-one came to ask how the food was. We also had empty glasses for a while and had to call the waitress over to ask for a second drink.

Everything was very good however we ordered bread and olives as starters and when it arrived there was no balsamic vinegar in the olive oil? So we pointed this out to the server to be informed they had run out of it? The actual roast we had was first class but still bemused that the starter was missing an important ingredient ? And no apology for the error.

I have heard such good reviews and was looking forward to our meal, after taking our orders 2 of our party had starters which after a bit of a wait arrived, we were later advised that one of the main meals was not available so another option was selected, we were waiting a further 75 mins for our main meals to come out which was unacceptable as we had nearly finished our meal before the change of option was brutish our table. In fainting the waiting they were extremely apologetic and their service was very good. They did not charge us for the last meal but had they. We would have complained as it looked and tasted as though it had been left to stand and reheated. The other 3 meals were acceptable but by no means exceptional, overall we were all disappointed we didn’t order dessert because of the waiting time just extended our night and we had a young child with us . We won’t be returning.

The service was shockingly bad. I know the pandemic has hit the hospitality industry hard but everything from the service, to the food, to the selection of drinks and food was terrible. Every drink we ordered- we had to go to the bar or try for 20mins to get the attention of a member of staff. It was the Sunday menu running and we were told they had ran out of roast chicken. After 30mins of trying to get the attention of someone to order, we made our section and a were then told they had ran out of ALL roast dinners. So we quickly selected other options. The food came swiftly and we were left to eat our meal- no one checked if we were satisfied with our food. My burger was burnt and dry. Our plates were cleared and we were given our bill without asking for it at 10pm and told ‘we’re cashin up now I’ll be back with the card machine! The waitress returned to our table with the card machine whilst on her mobile to her mum organising her lift home from work, whilst processing our payments. It was shockingly bad. I wanted to mentioned the issues at the time to give them chance to rectify the situation but there was honestly no opportunity or even an interest in whether or not we enjoyed our evening. This was our first visit back after lockdown and we were extremely disappointed in everyone aspect of the evening.

Very small portions compared to previous visits especially starters. Sold out of a lot of menu items, Dessert very disappointing - tiramisu was a small sponge cake with cream on top not like tiramisu at all A very disappointing meal overall & overpriced
