We went to dick Hudson's about two months ago and the food quality and the table service was a lot better than today

Food was poor the starter was prawn and mango cocktail it was put in a soup bowl full of lettuces with a few small prawns and two pieces of mango swimming in a bowl of water. Main meal and dessert were average not worth the money will not be returning.

Lovely restaurant, staff really lovely and took note of the request I had made in my booking to accommodate older persons. Food was delicious and went down really well and love the mini puddings with a hot drink.

Sadly the food was very disappointing. For the price we expected better quality. Sorry but i would rate the food 6 out of 10 and overpriced.

Excellent service with a good choice of menu. The ambiance was very good despite the heating being down. We were warned about the heating prior to our visit and were sat near the fire. The only possible improvement was the temperature of the food. It was a little cold. Excellent value for money on the 3 course festive menu.

A warm welcome and a lovely atmosphere. Service was pleasant and not too rushed. Food nicely presented but my burger was not very warm. Still enjoyed it though. Would go again.

Lovely pub in a picturesque location. Staff polite and helpful. Service was good but a little slow. We had 5 roasts and a burger. All mains were fantastic we then ordered sticky toffee pudding and custard which was really disappointing, not up to the standard of the main at all. It was dry, rubbery and tasteless. Over all rating good but would’ve been excellent if it wasn’t for the pudding,

Although Dick Hudsons is local I haven't dined there for a few years so I booked online as my son and grandson were visiting. Very friendly atmosphere albeit a little early off the gun with the Christmas decorations but the staff were very attentative and the service was very good. Really enjoyed the food and the empty plates of my son and grandson were testament to the quality of the food. Will definitely be returning.

The food was the worst I had been served for a long time. The vegetables were hard and inedible. There were raw peppers served with the Sunday roasts which were covered with hot food and just odd. Parsnips were burnt to a crisp, beef roasted potatoes were so hard to cut you could have done with a steak knife. The absolute worst was the veggie dish. This was a giant slop of rice and another indistinguishable matter with tomato sauce on top and a medley of odd vegetables on the side. I wouldn’t have given it to my dogs never mind serving up in a pub.

The atmosphere was very good helped by the blazing fire most welcome on a miserable day. The food was however a disappointment; two of us had the fish and chips - the fish was tasteless. The triple cooked chips were not much better. We shall not return - such a shame from how Dick Hudson's used to be.

The steak was not cooked as asked for so was disappointing. We did mention this and were given free coffee so the staff were very good.we loved the atmosphere and will go again but won't order steak..
