Great atmosphete. Nice food and frienly staffs. We did enjoy the dinner there. Definitely will visit again. Not many choices from the main menu but we can choose our preferable discs.

We were here twice on the Easter bank holiday weekend. On Saturday the place was quite busy but service and food were outstanding - our server, a lovely waitress who was struggling with some leftover balloons deserves a special mention . On Sunday evening it was quieter but food and service still good. Their signature burger is great!

Nice place and accommodating team. My beef stew was not freshly cooked - felt days old cooked food. My partner's food was OK. Kid's menu meal was OK, although sausages quality was at the low end. Food definitely needs some attention

Beautiful place and polite serving team. But not good food I am afraid. My sirloin steak was not eatable - so much gristle. My daughter's fish and chips, cod's crust was soggy. Chips did not taste freshly cooked. I could go on.. I think that the chef and management need to pick up their game as they have a beautiful place but not delivering a good product and there is a lot of competition out there.

We had a warm welcome and my meal was taken off the bill which was fair but it was quite the nice lunch I had hoped for! I ordered sirloin steak medium with an extra portbello mushoom. The steak had a lot of fat and gristle which I cut off. It turned out to be well done but so tough it was hard to chew. The waitress came to ask how the the food was and offered to change to steak and I accepted. She brought back a new steak quite quickly but it was actually bleeding on the plate. Part of the underside was still red on the outside. After that we were ignored for a long time (otherwise I would have asked for the steak to be cooked). Eventually the barman came over and I showed him the steak and he took it off the bill. I think that they must be having some problems in the kitchen?

We have dined and lunched here many times over the years. The service and food quality are normally excellent. However, today we were not as impressed as in the past. We waited some time for a waitress to take our drinks order, and then waited quite a while for them to arrive. Having placed our food order, three of the four were served complete and in good time. the fourth was served minus a poached egg, because the Chef "had dropped the original on the floor" and a second was being cooked. This took about 15 minutes to arrive, by which time much of the meal had already been eaten. Generally, the waiting staff appeared to be struggling to cope. It is a great pity because this is the first time I have found it necessary to write anything but an excellent review .

A good choice of starter, main and pudding at reasonable prices. Our Waitress, Emma, was very attentive without interfering. She always had a smile on her face accompanied by a very jovial, but professional and knowledgeable manner. The ambiance was very good, quiet without complete silence. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at the Five Bells, Western Turville.

Really well done refurb, it’s made the place look and feel a lot better. Same lovely staff who are always very good. Gabi was very accommodating of our little ones and the chef made me a salad that wasn’t on the Sunday menu which was delicious.
