We had a fabulous lunch at the Glenelg Public House. Service was great, food was excellent. Friday lunch was in full swing, atmosphere was very vibrant.

Arrived at the venue to be greeted with no smile and was told our table wasn’t ready yet, no apologies given. However, the waitress was nice, the steak was good and the atmosphere was intimate.

Booked in because we were after a really good steak restaurant. Our steaks were beautiful cuts but terribly undercooked even after waiting 40 minutes. Staff offered to cook again but with two young children who had already been in the restaurant for an hour, it just wasn’t a possibility. Was unable to eat the steak and was still charged full. No compensation offered at all. The stage were friendly enough but smiles were noticeably absent.

Fantastic food and service, the desserts were a massive hit. Would like to point put should have been advised that booking was outside as was far to cold (very windy with no cover on corner), think they should advise once booking is accepted. We left early because of this, didn't finish our drinks. We asked for the heater to be moved but that was left beside an empty table for the second half of the night. Again the service and food was amazing, so if inside I am certain if a better experience.

I have been saying for weeks I could easily become a vegetarian and was on the verge but my husband wanted a steak house so we came and he talked me into getting a steak. It was the most delicious steak and I no longer want to be a vegetarian. Everything was amazing. The sides also delicious. If I come back to surfers this will be on the top of the list.

Superlative steaks ! Amazing dinner here for my daughter's 21st Birthday . We had a really first rate meal. Bone Marrow was delicious , and a rare find in Australia. My daughter and her partner shared the Wagyu Sirloin and it was without a doubt the best steak I had ever tasted, with the softness of butter with a beautifully crisp char grilled smokiness . I opted for the Angus eye fillet which was perfectly cooked and also incredible. The sides of dirty Sebago fries were perfectly seasoned and crispy. The spinach and broccolini with lemon juice had a lovely freshness , We also enjoyed the carrots with crumbled goats cheese and pistachio . We enjoyed a beautifully balanced bottle of French Margaux 2012 ,skillfully decanted for us at our table, a really perfect pairing for the steaks. The waiting staff were professional and very friendly and had my request for a bottle of French champagne on ice ready as requested when my daughter arrived. They were happy to oblige by bringing out our pre-bought Birthday cake at the end of our meal also. Being new to the Gold coast, it was our first visit to this superb restaurant , and it will hopefully be the first of many. My husband is a self confessed French Gourmand, and he is quite discerning when it comes to great food and wine, and this restaurant has moved to the top of his list on the Gold Coast ! Thanks for an incredible evening , and for also making my five year old welcome too.
