Had a fantastic evening, despite being busy we were not made to feel we needed to leave. Service charge was not automatically added to bill ( nice change) definitely would go back

We have previously been with our dog. This time even though it said ' muddy paws welcome ' at the entrance we were not allowed in with the dog.we were told we could eat in the outside area, which was freezing. We left.

Sunday roast we waited over one hour for meal then the lamb was tough and in chunks not sliced. We were told the kitchen had to cook it in a rush as they had run out of both beef and lamb. I’m no chef but even I can cook lamb. The table behind us was extremely noisy but that isn’t the pubs fault but short of staff is.

Restaurant decor was very pleasant. Food and drinks very good. Excellent atmosphere. Our waitress: Christina was lovely, very knowledgeable and professional, she made us feel very welcome.

The waitor was lovely but rushed off his feet. We were sat in the corner and I think forgotten about slightly. Waited about 20 minutes for a drink at the table trying to get the waitors attention. Once we had his attention and we had our drinks and food everything was fine after that. Food was lovely. Like the refurb, will come again.

My husband and I popped in for a late lunch around 2pm. We sat outside on their lovely patio- and shared a flatbread wood oven pizza with salad and a glass of wine. The pizza was perfect- the crust divine! Also the salad was terrific- the leaves so fresh. The lady that served us was so pleasant - greeted us with a warm smile. We will definitely be back!

The food was good but not all the food on the menu was available and this was 2000hrs on a Friday, when I booked the table I asked for somewhere quite as a memeder of our party is a little hard of hearing, we were put next to a table of men on a birthday party we all sat in silence due to the fact they were to noisy

We chose The Golden Retriever because of our beautiful Goldie. We were so pleased we did. The ambience was lovely, the food was delicious, and the portion sizes were perfect for us. I had the pasta with seafood and my husband had the burger both were presented nicely and were very tasty, I also enjoyed chatting with the waitress, lovely young girl, and she gave us a little rundown on the history. love the way there are old photos around the walls and funny little messages. There was a lovely bubbly atmosphere of families and couples all enjoying meals together.

The staff were very friendly and efficient. When we arrived, we were seated near a very rude woman, who insisted that we move, as we had our dog with us. Despite us, and your staff explaining that it was a dog-friendly pub, she was so unpleasant that we were happier sitting elsewhere. The staff were very apologetic, but it wasn't their fault. Christina looked after us well, and the unfortunate incident was quickly forgotten. BTW, we drove down from a village near Luton, as we have a Golden Retriever, and I wanted a nice surprise for my Wife, as it was our wedding anniversary. She was delighted.
