9.5/10This relaxed seafood restaurant provided a delicious meal at reasonable cost. I had moules which were in a delicious sauce and my husband had a reallybeautifully cooked piece of haddock.

10/10We were pleasantly surprised with this restaurant, it’s a small cozy place in the city centrum. The staff was attentive and nice, checked often on us if we needed something else or if everything was good. We had the daily starter and the bread with anchovy and sea weed butter as a starter, which was super tasty and then we went for the classic fish and chips and mashed peas, we were too full to finish the peas or the chips honestly but everything was delicious

10/10We really enjoyed our Friday night at The Good Companion. The restaurant is compact but we were comfortable sat by the kitchen, which gave a great view of everything going on, and gives confidence. The food was excellent. We started with fresh oysters and a side of bread/butter. For mains my wife had the Bouillabaisse while I had their catch of the day (bream), and both were delicious. Wine was very nice and respectably priced. We would definitely return the next time we are in Amsterdam.

10/10We were looking forward to seafood like at home in New Orleans, and we were not at all disappointed. The waiter/bartender was making an impressive effort to serve the whole restaurant. Later we found out he was the owner. He said his employee had had an accident so there he was! But you could tell he he knew what it takes to make his restaurant a success.

10/10Cozy restaurant with informal atmosphere. Rich fish menu with different options. Very innovative cocktails and fantastic fish&chips ( very light and not oily). High quality with reasonable prices.

10/10Four of us ate at the restaurant last Thursday and as requested we had a table outside. The food choice and quality was excellent particularly the sea bass and the mussels. The restaurant ambience matched that of the surrounding area. Would definitely book again when next in Amsterdam.
