I was looking for a lovely country pub with a warm ambience for a romantic meal. From the outside the pub looked great. Inside was a very different story! The place had no atmosphere with great big lights making the place look like a hospital rather than a cosy pub. Most of the tables were empty which should have been a warning but with the pub the only place within walking distance from our inn we had to make the best of it. Considering the place was half empty it took a while to take the order and then the food came very quickly which always makes me wonder if it was freshly cooked. The manager was walking round with a hoodie on and the drinks sloshed on the table we had to use our napkins as beer mats. The food was disappointing. I have never had such a spicy sag aloo it wasn’t very nice. The manager asked me if it was ok. When I said it was to spicy he gave me some yoghurt to mix into it. My partner had butter chicken because he can’t tolerate anything to spicy but it was!
