8/10A lovely pub with great food. However, the service, although very friendly, was very slow in coming. We waited twenty minutes before anyone came to our table to see if we wanted a drink. It was fifty minutes before we got our first plate of food. A main course and dessert took over two hours.

9/10This was a family dinner, we all really enjoyed the fire, so we stayed there for our dinner. The food was nice but a little pricey for what it was fish and chips! But the service made up for that. I will be returning for a Christmas lunch with people who don’t mind paying for good service. Thank you

10/10Lovely food and a good choice of menus. Our group all had different menu choices and all were happy with what they ate. The waitress was very helpful, friendly and polite. Ambience was good and the loos were nice and clean. We were a bit nonplussed as to the handwritten suggestion that we pay 10% on top of the bill. A bit of a cheek when we always pay more than that as a tip. We paid around what the suggested amount was which meant the staff would lose out. I suppose some people don’t leave a generous tip? The Hawk is always a lovely place to visit. Our little group has been there many times over the years. We’ll be back!

5/10Was really looking forward to eating here today after popping in for a mid week drink .. was so disappointed my husband had the fish cakes which were very small & I had the cod & chips as to be honest there wasn’t anything else on the menu I wanted .. not a great choice of starters or mains .. it was ok … my husband had apple & blackberry crumble which was so small it looked like a sample … when I told the waitress she was apologetic as he’d been given a mini one & not the one ordered which she deducted from the bill … lovely place great staff but disappointed with the food

10/10We couldn’t fault this restaurant Menu varied, good and unusual Food excellent Door greeting staff very friendly and efficient Service and waiting staff outstanding especially Callum who served us Loved the great spacing between tables particularly as we were a table of 2 which are normally situated far too close to the next table. Will def be back

10/10Have been to the Hawk many times now and have always had excellent service and an extremely tasty meal. This time was no exception....our waitress was friendly, helpful and attentive without being intrusive and the food was hot, well cooked and tasted wonderful. Choices for all tastes and one of our party had the vegetarian burger which she said was spot on. Will definitely be back time and time again

9/10Lovely pub in a beautiful place but food lacked taste.... Rum baba - lacked rum; and fishcakes lacked crab and prawn, potato was the dominant taste. The sirloin steak was, as always, to die for
