10/10My girlfriend and I had afternoon tea at The Hyde. The restaurant is located in a hotel. The atmosphere was chic and gallant. The service and handling were excellent. We each got our own pot of tea for afternoon tea. The sandwiches and sweet snacks were delicious and a work of art to behold. For us as tourists, this was a real British afternoon tea at a high level. Enjoyed!

4.5/10Going though TheFork didn’t bring any added value as we paid the standard price and had to wait for a while before getting in while the place was totally empty. This is a common Appart hôtel trying to optimize the accommodation. Tea was eventually taped, little quantity, club sandwiches not that fresh, creams for the scones little quantity and not enough for 2, the temperature of the room low, music terrible and too high, not cosy what soever. This is too low quality for such a high price (40£ plus 5£ vat). Totally and fully deceived!!! To avoid. we will not come back for sure!!!

5/10The restaurant was nicely decorated but was very quiet, there was only ourselves and another couple in the restaurant. The staff were friendly on arrival. We had originally picked The Hyde for the menu , we had booked the champagne afternoon tea. When we were seated we were asked if we wanted Prosecco and I explained we had booked and paid for champagne. When we were brought the fizz it was infact Prosecco, I challenged the waitress and she swapped it for Moet. We were then brought the Afternoon Tea which was nothing like the menu. The waitress didn't explain what was in the sandwiches and to be honest I couldn't figure them out but they were terrible. I am convinced one was a pickled red cabbage sandwich, another had just a thin slice of red pepper and what looked like carrot....jury is still out on that filling. They were pre-made and had been in the fridge so were cold. The desserts looked very pretty but lacked taste and the pastry was very soft. We had desserts very similar the previous day and they tasted outstanding compared to these. The scones were lovely though. I think with all the afternoon teas in London to choose from you can certainly get better elsewhere.

9/10My first time at this restaurant and it was an excellent experience. The ambience was so comfortable yet pleasantly stimulating. The afternoon tea was nice and a straightforward procedure. The choices of tea were vast and different - the Oolong Milk Tea was my favourite, the green tea wasn't remarkable but it was standard. I think the fillings of the sandwiches were quite unique however, the bread was slightly oxidised and borderline stale. I would most definitely returning multiple times as the price per person is excellent for the standard of service. Excellent!

9/10this was a nice place for afternoon tea away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. the service was amazing! for the four of us, we had two vegan selections and two classic selections. the sandwiches and scones were all delicious and there was more than enough food. the gorgeous desserts were a little too sweet to have an entire platter each, but they were delicious. the tea was great - we had the green tea and english breakfast tea and were offered a variety of milk options. this was one of the cheapest afternoon tea options yet we got more than our money’s worth. highly recommend this afternoon tea experience!

6/10The sandwich collection was uninspiring (all tasted the same) and tea selection very limited (only English Breakfast and Earl Grey black teas) (tea bags instead of loose tea).. Scones were fine. Desserts were odd.

9.5/10After our booking at the Waldorf was cancelled on last minute, thankfully I was able to find an opening at this hidden gem. The outdoor seating was located in an enchanting hidden garden within the hotel - though the garden was small, it also meant there was only 5 other parties making it feel very intimate and exclusive. Our servers were extremely attentive and very friendly which created a very relaxing atmosphere. The scones were freshly baked and warm and the sandwiches were customised to suit our vegetarian requirements. Would definitely recommend!
