The King’s Arms staff did their very best to give us a pleasant evening and the food was first class. HOWEVER THEY DID NOT HAVE OUR BOOKING FROM THEFORK !! The booking had been confirmed via email and TheFork App, AND I received several reminder texts. As it appears it had not reached The Kings Arms, we were told initially we’d have to wait till 9pm, but in the event they found a table in the bar for drinks, and eventually a table in the restaurant about an hour later. What is the point in using TheFork app, if it DOESN’T RESULT IN AN ACTUAL BOOKING !! DISAPPOINTED.

Very friendly staff in a perfect atmosphere with a superb setting next to the canal. Food was good quality all be it a little expensive. Excellent service throughout.

Nocerella olives on the menu were not what was served. Not all your customers are idiots. Food was mediocre. Might be an idea of an evening to give guests the choice of sitting with other peoples children or not. The temperature was quite cool in the restaurant, made the difference between staying for another drink and leaving. Restaurant area tired and grubby, but the staff were lovely. Even so, we won’t be returning.

Excellent choice on menu. Food really lovely & piping hot. Loving the new smaller pud & coffee for £5.25 what a sensible idea! Place was busy so ambience good. Staff very friendly & obliging. Prices were fair & I didn’t feel ripped off. Would definitely go again & recommend! The out of ten!

We very much liked the circular table which was perfect for six people. Also our waitress was excellent. She was very efficient and charming and had a lovely smile.

We always enjoy eating here although I have to say that the crust of the pie I chose today was a bit hard to cut and my partner thought his battered fish was slightly undercooked. Good friendly service from the young staff as always.

Staff were very friendly, very clean pub , lovely location next to a canal lovely outside seating. Just be careful leavening as the road to the right is dangerous as road traffic is quick comeing over a bridge.

Service was very efficient and food served in good time. Food and wine excellent. There was some litter on the ground which needed picking up. All good apart from that ????????

The arrival welcome and the wait for the bill were excellent. However the nearly 2 hours in order to get served just drinks and a main we're rather excruciatingly slow especially when you have a 6 month old baby with you. We were tempted to order dessert but time had run out!

The location and premises are lovely. It was the attention to small detail that was missing. A dirty table outside that needed to be wiped. Perhaps Covid stops them putting salt/pepper etc on the tables or flowers so they were Spartan. It became more chilly and we had to ask for the heaters to be put on and then it began to rain. No staff came out to offer assistance. Eventually we had to bring all our plates in. No staff anywhere to help. They were chatting inside. It was fairly busy. I had the Dirty Burger which was delicious although I asked for greenery to replace the bun, which didn’t happen. My friend had the half chicken and had to wipe away fat running on the plate. It was ‘okay’ she said. The French fries were good. The portions for the price are not generous. I like being able to sit by the canal. With the right weather it’s lovely. The idea of a hot drink and a mini desert for £5.95 was a good one which we took up. I’d sum it up with - good try but could do better.

Lunch was for five of us in our late 70s and 80s. Our table was in the window as requested and we were directed to the most comfortable seats. The young staff were attentive and helpful The food was delicious, especially the puddings. The staff even arranged for us to pay separately. They could not have been more obliging. The ambience was comfortable and relaxing. We’ll be back in July !

We booked a table for 4 as our friends have been in France for several months and had only recently returned and just finished quarantine. They hadn’t been out for sometime and had never been to the Kings Arms. We arrived early but we’re shown to our table anyway. All the staff were very friendly and the drinks and food were excellent. There was no rush and we stayed until last orders were called. We’ll definitely be returning again soon. Paul, Naomi, Helen & Bede.

The venue is lovely and the staff are friendly and attentive. This was our first visit to The Kings Arms. We ordered our drinks then the waitress came to take our food order which was for 3 Sunday Roasts. The drinks seemed to take a while to come and almost immediately after the food arrived, we were surprised at the speedy arrival of the food. The meat was delicious as was the gravy. The root vegetables were very undercooked to the extent you couldn't get your fork into it. The main problem was that the food was bordering on being cold, luke warm at best. The food tasted delicious but would of been much nicer served hot. With hindsight we should of sent the food back but didn't want to make a fuss.

The staff were great friendly and peaceable ; the music was too loud and the acoustics were very loud. It was hard to hear my friend speak. It was cold too. The duck salad was nice but the salad veg were in large strips that I couldn't cut through. Needed a sharper knife. The loo paper in the loo had run out. These are meant to be constructive criticism. I realise you have only just opened again. You need feedback to get it right.
