The staff at the Kingfisher were very welcoming and friendly. Molly, who was our waitress, was very thorough in checking my food sensitivities. My husband and I very much enjoyed our first dinner at the Kingfisher and hope to return before long.

I found the restaurant floor dirty. Under the table we were sat there was dirty napkins on the floor. Also bits of blue paper everywhere. We were sat near the window which was nice but a back door was open and it was quite draughty as the evening Beckett coolers All the guests weee sat in close proximity of each other and some guests were loud so it made it quite difficult to have conversations on our table.. One of my party was an elderly lady in her eighties so all the above spoilt her evening out

A really enjoyable meal out. It’s only down fall was the chicken pie. There was far too much thick pastry and very little filling. The other meal , starters , drinks and service were at kingfishers usual high standard.

This restaurant is great for vegans as it has a dedicated vegan menu, and the vegan food is good, it’s nice to have more than just a vegan burger on offer! Others in my party had pizzas which apparently were ‘ok’ but nothing special and a little dry

Excellent service from lovely staff, thank you. Our meals were absolutely gorgeous and we all cleared our plates which was a winner as the portions are a perfect size on the Al A Carte menu we chose from. One tiny negative was that I was cold even sitting away from the doors in the restaurant & with my back towards the mirrored background but in saying that if I took a wrap or shawl with me it wouldn't have been a problem. I didn't mention it to a staff member as it could just be me but on leaving I saw a table of ladies wearing their coats. Please don't let this put you off as it is a fantastic place & we go there often but just bring a shawl if the weather is cold (1 degree when we left @ 8.15pm). We will be straight back there after Christmas x

It's a shame that with the upgrade of the restaurant that the food is not good. The presentation, quality and quantity was very poor, especially at the price charged. I had camembert which was overcooked and the prawn and salmon which was tiny in the bottom of a small pot. The salad was not appetising and served in a teacup size pot. Not well presented at all. This appeared to be the only gluten free choice on the menu.

Food was good. Service adequate took ages to get one drink then tried to give me another one. Letting customers use a fire exit so letting in cold air not good should be alarmed.

Haven’t eaten there for a few years but central to meet friends. Had been refurbished, very tastefully done. . Staff lovely, food good but a little expensive compared to pubs locally. Pizza was great , fish and chips looked amazing and fishcakes looked delicious too. Recommend the Chocolate brownie

Didn’t end up staying for Sunday lunch today. Turned up for our booking to find they had ran out of Sunday roasts. When asked how this was possible apparently they’d been busy on the roasts. Really on a Sunday?! Shock

We went for my wife's birthday which I informed the staff about when requesting one of the better tables. I also hoped that they might do something special for her. We were given a table in the middle of the pub and nothing was mentioned about the special occasion. The waiter was absolutely appalling, it felt like we were 'putting him out' whenever we asked him for anything. He had a face like thunder and whenever he bought anything to the table he just threw it down in front of us, no please or thank you. They were playing really fast and loud music as well which was off putting and really out of place. The actual food was very good it was just the rest that let it down. We had never been to this restaurant before and after last night we will never be going back. I felt that disappointed that I didn't leave a tip which is something that I never do.

We ate outside as it was a warm early evening meal, but the road was noisy with ‘show off’ motorbikes and cars roaring by and rather too many flies for my liking. But not much I suppose can be done about flies! Slight smell of drains also. Overall a pleasant evening.

There were no roast dinners left at 6pm , we were not told this until we sat down, when we should of been informed upon arriving, when l chose an alternative that was not available either . Waited a long time for our drinks and food when ordered, staff looked stressed . Will not be returning there again

We were turned away on Friday and went across the water for a fairly mediocre meal. Booked for the Saturday here. Much better food with the only issue being the melting bomb dessert that did not melt as the chocolate sauce not hot enough. But was good food in a nice Location.

The visit was made even more enjoyable by Dominic our waiter who was exceptional, we would like him to be acknowledged. The Kingfisher deserves to have an excellent recommendation. We will most certainly visit again. George Rushbrook

The staff are great but we noticed when a few more people arrived we could not get the attention of the servers for drinks therefore lost you money. The food was lovely though.
