The staff gave a very warm welcome. The dining area had a lovely ambience. Food was fresh, hot, and full of flavour and a really generous portion.

Food and service was good . Only a few people in the restaurant at the time allowed for very quick service. The food was very tasty though and good value for money.

Our waitress was very helpful and worked very hard but there were clearly not enough staff on, our main courses took a LONG time to come and my daughter sent hers back as it was poorly cooked. We arrived at 7pm having booked but our main course came at 8.40. If people turn up on speck they should be explained that they may have to wait. Anyone waiting should be given free nibbles and offered drinks as our evening was spoiled. More staff were needed, front of house and in the kitchen

Side portion of vedge and cauliflower cheese were not served hot....just warm. Main plate of food fine. Crackling was great. Recommended ice cream at Brinklow village stores afterwards if you skip desert

Excellent pub food and very welcoming to our four-legged family member. The Sir Woofchester dog menu went down particularly well, and she is likely to drag her owners back.

Great Sunday lunch. Service was okay and roast potatoes a bit soggy. Other than that, great food and ambience! Last time we were here, service took forever so it was improved since then.

Took an actual 1.5 hours from the point we ordered to the time we ate our food. We had starters but even with that it was far far too long. Our side order of onion rings also turned up near the end of our meal. The table was also wobbly. Though I don’t think I’d have cared about that if the food didn’t take so unbelievably long. I will say that the staff were not at all rude, just a little disinterested. The food was really quite good just massively let down by the speed. Real shame to be honest.

This was my 5th or 6th visit and as always the food was excellent. Somewhat disappointed this time with the service as it took more than 30 minutes from being seated to even get a drink and order to be taken. Not sure why as it is normally much better. Hopefully next time will be ok.

We go out for Lunch every Sunday and came her last Sunday and it is definately one of the best in the area and also great value for money. The food is really great and so well presented. The serving staff ( Joe in our case) very attentive. Will be back very soon

We visit the Old Lion every few months and the food is always delicious. You can tell that everything is freshly cooked using quality ingredients. We went for the Thursday pie night special, the pies are the best we've had anywhere with proper pastry cases (not a slab of puffed pastry stuck on a pie in a dish!) stuffed full of meaty (or veg!) goodness. The welcome is always friendly and service is good.

Delicious food, warm welcome and lovely atmosphere. However, on this occasion we waited a long time for drinks and food to arrive and not very attentive service.

Food was really good. Always worry about taking my toddler to places but we had 2 toddlers with us and staff and other diners weren’t complaining and were engaging with them to help keep them entertained. Great service

I'm a big fan of the Old Lion which has done us proud many times. Tonight was good but my main course, farmhouse chicken, didn't hit the heights of other mains I've had in the past. The desert and coffee were fine and the service as given good as ever. Thanks.

A lovely welcome and great table. The food was delicious. The only criticism was that we asked for sauces which didn't arrive. But apart from that it was all very good.
