Our booking was for 1.15pm 21/7 for 6 people . We arrived at 1.10 but the other 4 were about 5 minutes late . From ordering our meal we had to wait 3/4 of an hour which is unacceptable and no apology was made at any time . All we were told was it was being plated . This spoilt what could have been a perfect lunch as overall the food was good but the pork crackling was really rock hard . The puddings were delicious.

This was a repeat visit but we hadn't been since 2018 so we were a bit worried in case it wasn't as good as we remembered. We needn't have feared. The service was excellent (particularly Amy on the phone when I needed to change the booking) and the food was superb. We all had Sundays roasts (we all had the beef) and it was delicious; succulent & cooked to perfection. Amazingly we found room for pudding afterwards. Highly recommended! Our dog joined us and was warmly welcomed with water and biscuits. All in all, we enjoyed every minute. Great food, beautiful roaring fire, nice ambiance and friendly staff.

We always have a nice meal at the Ram's Head. Staff are lovely, food is good and the atmosphere is usually nice. Small niggles tonight -quite a lot of things were unavailable including Yorkshire puddings which is disappointing for a Sunday. Also we find the service a little slow at times - it doesn't bother us but our kids tend to get impatient.
