It should not take 20 mins from ordering just to get your first drink - and it should not be served in a dirty wine glass. Olive oil canister on table empty, no cutlery on table when semi-cold meal arrives just so it goes completely cold by the time we get a fork. No idea about service in this a place.

The issues started with the flat pints of beer that were being served as there was no gas. Understandable if there’s no gas it’s going to be flat but to continue serving to every customer was a surprise. After turning the pint down we were still charged for it as there seems to be no communication with the front of house staff. We then had to wait an hour for food to arrive for it to arrive cold and bland. Calamari was cold and bland, halloumi fries cold, chicken skewers surprisingly only one skewer which was cold, salt cod which was actually warm but the batter was raw and again bland which is funny for a SALTED cod, new potato’s were cold and a Greek salad which tasted of nothing. After being served the food we then had to wait 20 mins before we had to get a servers attention to let them know we were done and ready to pay. Not once did a server come to check on us and it felt like a majority of the tables were neglected as leaving the restaurant we heard complaints about tables waiting for food. There seemed to be no communication with servers along with no real management present with servers just being tasked with running food with no care for the customer and how things were going at the tables. Really disappointed as the reviews for the place looked great but we were informed that the restaurant had been getting worse when it comes to service and food quality.

After 20 mins and asking 3 times if we could order we gave up and left., We noticed 2 tables who had come in after us and didn't order off the 50% off deal had already been served . We will not be going there again

Excellent as always, have been to several branches of the Real Greek all over London. The food is always good quality and tastes fab, , the service excellent and ambience most enjoyable.

Food nearly cold. Explained my son had a severe nut allergy which they didn’t seem to understand. Chips cooked in peanut oil but server didn’t tell us. Could have killed my son. Will write to head office with formal complaint.

Good food, lovely atmosphere, unobtrusive music, always worth a visit. Tried the Christmas menu; great choices for vegetarians and vegans, as well as meat eaters. Excellent value for money too. Definitely recommend The Real Greek.

Such a disappointment after returning here for a birthday celebration after a theatre visit in the Strand. The previous visit had been delightful. It is now understaffed,overpriced and serving mediocre food .. Sunset Boulevard made up for it.

We had a table booked for 2pm, table was not ready when we got there, had to wait 10 minutes to be sat down, tables are very small and close together so we had trouble getting in to sit down. Waited another 15 minutes or so before anyone approached us to take an order, we gave our drink and meal order at the same time, drinks took forever to come, and when the food eventually turned up it was cold, think it had been sitting in the dumb waiter for a while, plus one or two items were wrong. We spoke to who we think was the manageress and she got them all replaced very quickly I my add, but one meal was still incorrect. The staff were very friendly and apologetic the whole time, and when we went to pay the manageress also took 25% off our food bill which was very nice of her.

We ordered quite a number of things from the menu: Lamb skewers, Lamb meat balls, chicken skewers, wrap, rice, Greek salad. The meat was over done and burnt. The service was also not that good as when we entered she clearly mentioned “oh we are closing” then why are you taking reservations from Fork. Only go if you do not get any other things.

Came for a pre-theatre meal, which we told the waitress again upon arrival. Overall the service was very disappointing. I try to be fair in reviews but usually always leave a tip for staff regardless. This time I explicitly asked to remove the service charge it was so poor. There was no set table for us when we arrived but one group left after waiting too long for service, so we got their table. In hindsight we should’ve followed suit and left then. Drinks took a long time to arrive and our starters never came at all. Our mezze platter tasted good and came with an apology for tardiness and an assurance that our starters were on their way too. That was our only apology of the evening. As it was getting on towards show time for theatres, the restaurant started emptying slightly (it had been very busy), but it was incredibly difficult to attract a waiter’s attention to get the bill. The long and narrow layout of the restaurant did not help; neither did the propped open or which blocked view to the bar. We had left good time to make the theatre but with time running out I went to the bar to request the bill. This came featuring the starters which never arrived. We flagged this immediately and the waiter took it back and then proceeded to serve multiple other tables before returning to us? This bill then came without the fork discount, which I requested and then had to wait another 5-10 minutes for (no exaggeration). We went to pay, declining the optional service charge, which then prompted our server to refuse payment and find his manager. Another long wait. The manager came to charge us, asking multiple times if we would like to tip staff, to a resounding no each time. This was very poor service and also stressful for us as we had to run for our theatre booking. We requested the bill before 7pm and paid at 7:25pm. Disappointing because we have used the chain multiple times before to great service, just not this branch. Will not return.

Service was dreadful. The manager was shouting at us when we asked if rest the food was coming out after 5mins not knowing if it was or not. Instead of handing us the food & saying the rest coming they just left us there waiting & wondering. When we asked she was very abrupt. We were all a bit stunned.

I was alone and the staff immediately made me feel welcome - gave me a comfortable table. The waiter helped me select a nondairy meal and a wine, and both were delicious. I'm from out of town and the ambiance was warm and friendly. I highly recommend this lovely restaurant.

Not very happy with my visit to The Real Greek at the Strand... First of all, although the food was good taste wise, all the warm dishes came cold. Food that is freshly cooked should never be cold, full stop. The staff were friendly but they were really messy... Most of the tables were empty, and yet I found it difficult to get the waiters' attention as they were too focused on a large group. They brought our order but forgot one dish. After trying to get their attention for a while, they finally came and apologized about the missing dish, which took a bit longer to come. We then asked for the bill and had to ask them to correct it as it wasn't the right price... I understand it's difficult sometimes but I feel like the staff should be properly trained,
