8/10The food and service was very good. A good selection of local beer as well as national beer. Car Parking facility excellent. A rather huge beer garden in the back A very nice place to stay, if passing.

9.5/10Very warm staff. Cared about our experience. Moved us to a different table when after our starters a large party blocked us in and the waitress could not get near us to serve us. Meant that although comfortable we no longer had a table where we could both see out of the window and no longer had chairs with arms and comfortable cushions. But we appreciated that we then had a properly laid table, crackers and condiments. Lovely waiter and waitresses who really made sure we had what we needed. Good quality food and an enjoyable Boxing Day in the end. Thank you.

10/10Had a great lunch here today we had a little wait but it was busy ! Belly pork was beautiful perfectly cooked and very tasty My partner had hunters chicken which was delicious Had a very friendly smiley waitress called Emily she was superb nothing too much trouble for her ! Will definitely be back

6.5/10Good welcome and service. Let down by the quality of the food. The fish was nearly all batter, grizzle in the meat pie and very little meat in the shepherd pie. Pleasant surroundings.

9/10Great atmosphere, lovely food except had a side of pigs in blankets which consisted of 2 tiny sausages for £3.50! Shame because the rest of the dinners were lovely. Would recommend it still though as also well presented

10/10Early evening meal, so pretty quiet initially; but busy by the end of the meal We arrived early so a friendly welcome and drinks from the bar before being shown through to the main dining area. There was plenty of choice on the main dinner menu. The waitress spent time with us to find options to meet our dietary requirements. All courses were perfectly cooked with attention to detail and a good blend of flavour and texture. Good ambience with welcomes for newcomers and regulars alike. It was altogether a pleasant way to pass a couple of hours.

7/10Our food was good, better than expected for a “chain hotel”. We felt the soft drinks were very expensive….£3.65 for a small glass of cola? However, it is a convenient meeting place, and easy parking, so we shall continue to use in the future.

10/10Eaten here several times in 2021 during visits to Devon and every meal has been excellent from the breakfast to the roast dinners, this pub has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are excellent,both friendly and professional. Great selection at the bar and dogs welcome. Lovely outside seating area also.

5.5/10Appalling. Party of 6 for a birthday meal and 1 of the main meals was not ordered totally forgotten!!! This member of the party had driven 8 hours straight from Newcastle
